…….with my gorgeous class ….. or more happily, to my six week break. So I return to work tomorrow minus the suntan I’d been hoping for as the weather has been typical school holiday – chilly and damp! A brief respite from it yesterday when Dave and I were able to ‘spark up the barby’ and lounge on our…err ….loungers…. until quite late in the evening. Today is grey and really quite chilly. I’ve been asking myself if my current passion for grey clothes is due to how I’ve dressed my blog, or maybe even down to the weather?
So here we’ve been all week, dodging the showers and wrapping up warm and then there’s my mum who’s been sunning herself all week in hot Cyprus. Lucky her! She returns today and I’m going to layer on my definitely delicious Clarins Creme Delicieuse tonight so that I don’t look too pale in comparison. Seriously though, Mum, I hope you had a great time!
Charley has colitis, which is a form of IBD which I suffer from. We took her to the vet’s Friday night and she (the vet) didn’t take long to diagnose it. So Charley is now on an antibiotic, an anti inflammatory med (which I used to take for my IBD!) and a new diet of chicken and rice. She has good and bad days. On bad days she just lies around listlessly refusing food. On good days she’s her usual bouncy, greedy self. We’re not allowed to feed her anything but the dry food which contains chicken and rice, and water of course. This will be very very difficult as I’m sure any dog owner will know! We take her back in two weeks for a review of the situation.
Lastly, must just add an addendum to my previous post about the latte. I should have said it was one of the best lattes I’ve ever had in the UK. Of course all the lattes I supped in Italy are the best ever! Just to prove that I can make a mean one myself, here’s a pic of the one I made myself this morning (and no I’m not cheating, I do own a Starbucks mug!). It’s taken a great deal of experimenting to make a good enough latte!

Oh, good news bad news about Charley. I’m so glad it’s nothing worse, but I’m sure it will be a difficult thing to manage nonetheless. I wish you both the best. So interesting about the psychology of grey, as I’m just transitioning out of a grey phase myself. Hmmmmm. Food for thought. That is quite a professional looking photo of the latte. It is, however, making me wish I had one. We do have a Starbucks in town now, but I’m feeling to lazy to take a drive just now. Yesterday was for running around, and today is for staying put. HUGS!
Good evening sweetie

Oh, I’m so sorry for Charley. I hope she’ll feel back herself ASAP with your help & food diet. Keep us posted about her health situation please.
School year is arriving at its end soon in France too. A whole month & it’ll be summer vacations … wow can’t believe that myself. I am not a teacher but having children myself, and as my mom used to work in a preschool, I can really understand what you feel by the end of the year when you have to let your pupils go. P’s teacher was really so good & so great, it’s breaking my own heart that he won’t have her as teacher next year, and that U won’t have her neither.
Mmmmmmm latte …. and I have exactly the same Starbucks cream mug !!!! And loving it too !
OK, time to go to bed soon, so I’ll stop for now. Good luck for going back to work. Enjoy your little ones as much as you can. Sending you big hugs OXOXOX
will be back again later, but wanted to stop by and leave a paw print. When will you see SATC? I really do have to wait for it to come out on DVD, there is a tiny chance I could go on Thursday, but it’s a special day and I don’t want to be away from Humbug on that particular day!
Hope Charley behaves herself and does what she’s told! Poor thing.
ok, need to get a move on. Going out and about this morning. have a good day back at school, the countdown starts here!
xx
p.s nice coffee. I am rubbish at any coffee making!
Aww bless Charley, Sweep had that when he was young and its not nice!, hope the change of food does the trick for her..
Got to be bitter sweet, saying good bye to a good class, and hope that next years lot will be just as good
The weather has been strange, one day warm, next day chilly, as for when it rains, well watch out!
Have a great week
Luv n hugs Pixie xxx
Hello Nikki, sorry about your weather during your spring break, I hope it’ll be better when you are off for six weeks! Sorry about Charley, I hope he feels better soon. I envy your weather as it’s going to be 90F again today here. I’m sure you’d like to exchange with me though

Have a great week, hugs
Hi, Nikki. I just love that movie meez. How cute!!! I finally started the book today. This will sound weird, but I will risk it. Ashley and Matthew took Alexander to the new pediatrician today. He comes highly recommended by a dear friend of mine, and they both thought he was wonderful with the baby. They took him to have his ear buttons checked, but everything was normal in that regard. Sadly, he heard a heart murmur. This makes Alexander’s second, as he had one when he was born that later went away. Everyone was so upset in the aftermath of this news and handled it in different ways. At first we talked and talked and Ashley cried a bit. Later Roy got on the computer. Ashley got on this laptop to finish a workshop assignment that she had missed this afternoon. Matthew left to get a haircut and hit the hardware stores. And I started your book. Somehow that was strange comfort. Ashley and I will go to Lafayette Women’s and Children’s tomorrow for Alexander’s EKG.
