a brief note this evening…..

…… as I’m about to go have a bath and then sit down and relax. Dave is cooking a meal from the Jamie Oliver Italian book, a tome he regularly uses when he wants to do something a bit special. Pork with pancetta, prosciutto and sage over a bed of sauteed potatoes. Friday night is special night, a tradition we set up when we first moved in together. That was in the days when I was the chief cook….nowadays I hardly know where the oven is :) . Anyway, I digress. I just wanted to mention a favourite advert while I think of it. My friend Jackie sent me the link to a great site which contains hundreds of British adverts, here, and I’ve been wanting to share with my American friends one which tickles me somewhat. I think it’s quintessentially British, uses two of our loveliest comic actors and has an exquisite punchline! Tesco milk advert

And one more thing. I was so lucky today to become the owner of a hugely funny adoption made by Karen at Recyclebingraphics. I fully expected ‘Purranoia’ to have already been snapped up! Here it is…..

If you’re interested in adopting it, pop over to my graphics site and email me to request it.

Hi Nikki Your Friday night sounds idyllic and the meal fabulous (I’ve got oven chips warming through, even as I type – lay a place for me :) ) I’m glad you highlighted the Tesco ad, it’s one of my current faves too – I love seeing Martin Clunes tootling over the bridge in his jim jams. Your new adoption is adorable – they definitely look as though they’re up to no good :) Have a fab weekend xxx

Hi, Nikki, the food sounds divine. That Italian restaurant got y’all in the mood I’m thinking. I love good Italian meats, something we don’t have access to here in town, but do in nearby Lafayette. So awful about the b*&mbs in Britain these past two days. What can one say? I hope and pray this is the end of it for everyone’s sake. The kitty adoption is the cutest cat thing ever. I will definitely be adopting it and some of your others when I get a place to put them. Right now I”m realizing I have four days to get ready for my trip west and must spring into action. Hugs, Julia

Hi Nikki, I just wrote you and e-mail to request your funny “Purranoia” adoption, I really like it! :) After sooo much rain, it’s H-O-T and sunny here, but so humid I cannot stand it anymore. :(
    Hope your week is fab!
    Hugs!
