a brief one (I think)

but once you get started, it sometimes ends up long :???: So, yet another week has whizzed past. Only five more days and we’ll be in Dorset  visiting grandchildren. This week has seen me radically change the colour of my hair, Travis at the vets and an 80th birthday party. First my hair, is it the time of year or something but nearly everyone at work has been toying with the idea of doing ‘something different’ (hairwise!). I had only intended to have a small change to autumn colours but my hairdresser persuaded me to go dark, something I’ve always shied away from. However, faced with a dare (almost!) I’m up there with the rest and am so chuffed I did. Here’s a hint of what it’s like  The underneath is black and then you can see the beautiful purple colour it is on top!

After all the shenanigans with Charley last weekend, it was Travis’s turn to have our whole attention on Wednesday. Poor lad had gone down with a dreadful tummy upset which is defying a course of antibiotics at the moment (3rd day). We’ve had rather a lot of messes to clear up, yikes! Just hoping and praying that Charley doesn’t pick it up as they are particularly ‘up close and personal’ right now while she’s in season, (what a floozie!). I hasten to add that Travis has been neutered but it doesn’t stop him from being ‘interested’!

Last night saw us at a family do in a fabulous Chinese restaurant/hotel. We took over a room to celebrate Dave’s BIL’s dad’s 80th, a wonderful old gent who I’ve known for years as I taught his grandchildren. It was lovely to officially become a part of his family when Dave and I met nearly 9 years ago. It was a raucous evening with hoards to eat and drink. I didn’t overdo the food at least though as Chinese is not my thing…too much MSG and vinegar for my liking but I still found lots of nice bits and pieces (namely the crispy duck and rice!). Here’s Peter with his two sons

  1. Cool, love your hair color, Nikki! :) Sorry for not replying yet to your question about Italian food. We’re thinking about opening a Recipe Corner where to share our fave recipes (Italian and not) but also talk about Italian cuisine in general. This is something we wanted to do long time ago, but maybe now we are on the good way to do it for real. Have a great new ween ahead! Hugs! :D

  4. I really like your new colour, very nice. I do look forward to the days when I can actually do something with my hair, don’t have the time right now. :(

Still, do have time to sew. Have been busy with sewing this weekend, and have just uploaded (probably far too many)photos for tomorrow.

I hope Travis is better very soon. Not only is it hard work having to clear up all the mess, but it’s really upsetting too. I hate it if Dud isn’t well, I worry sick, so I can imagine how you must be feeling :(
Good news that Dave’s potassium has gone right down. Hope his prescription gets sorted out now.

Not long before you are off then. The weather is meant to be a bit mixed this week, but I hope you get good weather next week.

Glad you had a nice time at the 80th bd. I would have scoffed for England, I love chinese, and I’m a gutsy piglet!

    have a lovely evening xxx

  5. Hi sweetie !
Thanks so much for all your stops, it’s almost autumn break here too. I bet you’re eager to visit your grandchildren in Dorset !
Yeah for the new color ! Sometimes we DO need something new to keep us happy & working all the time ! One good thing is that it will go well with all the plum you’re loving so much !
Poor Travis, and poor you too, I don’t have any pet but I’m sure it’s tons of work when they’re sick. Hope this will clear ASAP.
Have a super nice middle of the week, my friend. Thanks again a lot for your visits, it’s much appreciated ! OXOXO Big hugs !!
