a few things…

…realised that I’d forgotten to mention that my son passed his driving test on Saturday. It was his third try, bless him and he was thrilled to bits. It took him a long while to get interested in driving but he’s now found it a necessity. I shall of course worry about him constantly when he gets a car (but then isn’t that what mothers are for?!).

Watched a wonderful and compulsive film the other night. Babel. It was one of those films that I love where there are a number of stories going on which eventually interweave. I was amazed at how old and grey Brad Pitt looked. I’m sure they must have made him up to look old and stressed. I can’t believe gorgeous Brad is getting old!! Anyway we both loved it.

Big Brother 8 started here last night……this is the time of year when Dave and I part company for some of the evening as he is so not a fan, whereas I am. BUT, OHHHH! Shock, horror, the producers have done a dirty on us this year… last night the house was filled with just WOMEN! Not a bloke in sight! I’m sooo annoyed with them :( and am seriously considering not wasting my time on it for the first time since it began in 2000. Rumour has it that men will be introduced in stages. Hmmmmm……

  2. Whooo on your son passing his test and yes that is part of our job to worry about them.. can’t be helped..

The film looks a good one..

I heard that BB was going to start with just women.. seems an odd thing to do.. not something I am into to watch.. I just hear the gossip on other shows..

Your so right about blogging how it rekindles past hobbies and makes them popular again.. neat how that works.

As for the macro photos thank you and I have improved my way of thinking how to take them.. so the books are useful along with the tip not to snap them in full sunlight, make the most of early mornings or dull days for snapping

Congrats to Tom, you must be really proud of him! Peter passed his test 2nd time around about a month ago – now every weekend when he drives to and from Reading I spend ages worrying about him until I know hes home safe and sound, cant be helped! Is Tom going to be getting a car soon? Im thinking of getting one when I get back from uni for the summer, I will have finished my last exam a week today :) Cant wait!

    Love Sarah

  5. :) Happy June. Well done to your son. By the way, meant to say thanks for emailing over the photos the other day. Each time I’ve sat down to email (or do anything on the computer come to think of it) someone has made a noise and I’ve had to scoot off to see what she wants!

BB.Hmm. those two twins are just too irritating. What on earth is wrong with them? They’ve obviously got together and said ‘right, we’ll be a bit zany and scream alot so people think we’re nutty and keep us in’. All that jumping on the sofas.Hello? how old are they again?! something tells me they will be booted out swifty.

not sure about her with the multicoloured hair. I haven’t seen very much of it yet, just what they repeat in the mornings, but multicolour seems a bit angry and in your face.

time will tell. Bring on the blokes and give us something to look at. So far it seems aimed at men. I mean…twins…young fillies… wonder what they are hoping for, other than bitching? :|

got to go. Have a great day and a good start to June! xx

  6. Hi Nikki

Well done to your son on passing his test, but agree it’s another thing to worry about (When does it ever stop?) Holly hasn’t shown any interest in driving so far which I am pleased about. I’m with Dave on the whole BB thing but I did catch 5 minutes of “Big Brother’s Little Brother” this morning – Dermot O’Leary is the only part of the whole BB shenannigans that interests me – and they all look awful. I’m not sure that twins being in the house is fair on the others as they will have the emotional support of each other and they seem to have their own language of high pitched squeaks. Anyway I won’t go on having said I’m not interested in it :) Hope your last free day is fab xxxxx

  7. Congrats to your son on passing the test. I’m loving the olive theme and the base as well. I spent way too much time looking for something plain that validated, etc. and now you come up with one I apparently missed. I was going to work with Fauna but it doesn’t play well with the new WP. When will I learn? Those reports sound killer. Don’t get me started on school. They’ve called my house one time too many and I finally learned how to say NO – to going for a week’s training in Baton Rouge for dyslexia. Of course, they promptly found someone else to do it. I must add Babel to my queue. Right now I’m watching a Midsomer Murder – jolly old England and a bit of murder! PS Thanks for reminding me about Susan Branch. I forget to turn every month until I come here lol. Hugs, Julia
