a lovely job done :o)

Current Mood:Artistic emoticon Artistic & out and about emoticon out and about

I’ve been busy in my role of Art and ICT manager today…….spending money! A couple of times every year I go, armed with a blank cheque, to buy Art resources for school. A few miles from here we have a paper mill which supplies to schools and it’s my lovely job to go along and choose colours of card and paper for the year. Sadie and Jackie, you’d love it! They also stock masses of other art materials so, being a lover of all things crafty, it really is a wonderful part of my job! I was thinking Christmas today, as once we get back in September, it won’t be long before we start heading that way, ugh!

After I got back from there I then had to visit a nearby school who are using a type of interactive whiteboard that we’re interested in putting into all our classrooms. We’ve dragged our heels a bit with these as it wasn’t until recently that the IWB’s became infant appropriate. And they cost a MINT! I’m really glad we didn’t rush into things as the ones we saw this afternoon are perfect for littlies. And as much as I’d like to not have to go down the computer led curriculum route, I’m realising that it’s here to stay and we have to get ourselves on that road.

Friday tomorrow, thank goodness! The children have settled down again and are doing their best to make me feel sad that I’m losing them. I’m sure after another three weeks that I’ll be heading back to that sense of relief though! Sometimes I only have myself to blame for their behaviour as if I’m feeling stressed and overworked (which I have done a lot just lately) I’m then irritable and they pick it up just like babies do. Since I got my reports done, and some of the other jobs which have been hanging over my head, I’ve been a lot calmer…and so have they :) .

  2. Hello sweetie !
Oooh I’d love that part of your job too ! ;) You know how much I love paper, stationery & any paper works !
I guess it’s the worst part of your job to have to let the children go/leave. I’m finding it hard myself to say goobye to Paul’s teachers, and it must be SO very hard when you’re in the teacher’s shoes. :(
I wish you the best of luck, patience & tenderness for the rest of your term, sweetie. Take good care.
    OXOXOXOX Thinking of you

  3. Hi Nikki That does sound like fun choosing all the paper supplies, I would definitely have liked to help :) Yes children are like sponges, aren’t they, sensitive to every change of mood. You certainly deserve the Summer holiday to relax and recuperate. Lots of love xxx

  4. Your paper picking trip sounds divine. Well, we installed Prometheans in time for the past school year, so I am intensely interested in the IWB thing. I am ashamed to say I was in awe or more accurately in fear of the thing for months. My Chinese-Vietnamese student Tu propelled me into using it at long last, and it was love. If used properly, the kids become engaged, and that’s a good thing. Hope you’ve had a good week! Hugs, Julia

  5. me again.
Oh that Charley could start an argument with her own shadow! Doesn’t she ever shut up? She is unbelievable. I don’t blame people for wanting to leave, she would drive me mad and I’d have gone after the first week. Not before telling her what I thought of her though. she’s very cruel with her big fat mouth.

And the slops thing is so funny. Mean to do it on the twins birthday though. Should have made them eat pink blancmange instead!

Well it’s Friday, and it’s raining! I think Tracey will go tonight. People will want to keep Billi in because he winds up Mouthy so much.
    :)
