a new class

Oh how spoiled I have been! From day one, my lovely children from last year were the models of behaviour. My task was to educate and bring out the best in those sweet little personalities. This year my first target is to teach these children manners and how to listen. It will be a while……!

Of course, we haven’t had the best of starts with the weather being absolutely appalling and preventing the kids from letting off steam in the playground. Sunnier and drier days will help, as these are the type of children who need lots of outdoor play before they are ready to gain the tools for reading and writing. My name change has also proved problematic as well! Having spent the last six weeks being taught how to say my old name, the poor little souls had to be told that my name was now something entirely different! (I think some even thought I might be someone different!

Here’s a photo taken of their first pieces of artwork….I always like to do this kind of thing early on as it gives them some ownership of the classroom

    Good evening, sweetie !
Thanks so much for stopping by tonight ! I appreciate that you take time to stop, read & leave a comment.
The bloglist on the side on my blog doesn’t show when I last visited these blogs, but when their owner last updated them ! This way I visit again as soon as I see the site/blog gets updated. The bad side is that I can’t add blogs or sites that are password protected.
Sorry the weather hasn’t been very cooperative … I understand it doesn’t make things easy with children, at school. And sorry your pupils this year are thougher to teach than last year’s. You are a great teacher, and with your help, they will teach the basics perfectly. :)
Sending you much love, wishing you a great Sunday tomorrow. Take care !

love the artwork. I agree that it’s a good idea for them to do things like that so the classroom feels ‘theirs’. :)

I can imagine how unhelpful the weather has been, and it really has been grotty! I think next week it’s meant to be a bit drier, so hopefully the little tykes can get outside and scream and shout and jump about. It’s not good that you are having to teach them manners on top of everything else, that’s a basic thing that should be automatically taught by parents. When humbug bellows ‘choc choc’ at me, with her little paw stretched out, I say to her ‘what’s the word?’, and she knows she has to say please (peeeeeeeeeeezzzzzz, to be precise!). Basic, so basic. No wonder some kids are growing up to be such thugs nowadays.

Am busy. Sunday morning = food prep and cooking, and we didn’t get up until (drum roll)………..7.30! That’s like the middle of the day for me! :) lovely. of course, now I feel that I am going to have to play catch up for the rest of the day, but even so, it made a nice treat. :)

time I was off. Have a lovely day xxxxx

Hi Nikki The Windmill sounds such fun – imagine all those little hands kneading the bread and then taking it home for tea :) The cafe sounds to be a great find too. Gosh I took piano lessons back in the day but was never very good, but I too would have guessed that it would have been easy to restart if you had a certain proficiency – there’s absolutely no hope for me then  Glad you’re enjoying being back at school but it must be quite a challenge every year starting afresh with a new bunch. The art work looks wonderful. I’m on my way out now but had to pop in to visit before I went. Have a lovely Sunday lots of love xxx

Ciao Nikki, thanks for stopping by. I’m having my 2nd cup of coffee while waiting for the ladies for our 1st apt. inspection. Hope they won’t let me wait all day! I’m finally feeling better and I want to take a walk. They can come anytime 9 AM to 5 PM. Tsz.
Zeno and I have used our duvet for the 1st time last night too. Temps are quite chilly for us. We still have to get used to it. I googled Dornoch and it looks beautiful… and I will never get used to say “I googled smthg” lol! I’m trying to improve my english, but I still find Glaswegians sooooooooooo strong and hard to understand  Oops, the door rang, gotta go. Take care, stay warm and enjoy your day. Hugs! :)

What a pretty & bright class, I love the art work, I’m sure it helps them to feel better in their classroom. I hope the weather gets better. Have a great week, hugs

What a pretty photo – such creative artwork you/they have done, and it’s so sunny and bright in your classroom. Wish I could see the whole thing! We are very pleased to see that Hurricane Ike is headed for some other poor souls, but we really weren’t ready for another one this soon. The evacuation thing really stinks; there’s no place like home, after all. I’m sure you’ll be able to tame the little beasties, but it is a trial in the early stages, isn’t it? Hugs, Julia

Ciao Nikki  just popped in to see if you posted. I did not post lately, I’ve been busy and also… quite lazy! I’m glad you will visit Italy again next year. In the south you should visit Naples. I have to admit: I did not think it was such a gorgeous city before getting there! And also Capri, Ischia… oh, and Pompei and Ercolano. Awww… I cannot wait to visit all these places myself! *dreaming face* Sicily is also a beautiful place to visit, esp. Agrigento with the Valle dei Templi (Valley of the Temples). What did you have in mind? Have a nice day!

    Good evening Nikki !
YOU SAVED MY “LIFE” ! Thanks so much for giving me the idea to go to my server & delete all these mails !! It worked indeed & I could finally check my mail !! (which had been impossible for the last three days !!) HURRAY ! Thanks so much, dear Nikki !
The paintings on the classroom’s windows is not U’s classroom. I probably typed a wrong age, the children who painted that (with a little help I guess, too) are 4 1/2 right now, or are going to be 5 soon. U’s drawings of a person are NOT like that, don’t worry !
Thanks so much for stopping by & leaving a long (and so helpful !!) comment, it’s so much appreciated !! Much much love your way, have a super great weekend, and hopefully, SUNNY !
    OXOXOXO
