a week off :o)

How lovely, nine whole days stretch ahead of me with no particular plans except to rest and get back to better health. No doubt much of my time will be spent on here which always helps. I’m looking forward to creating some new themes with the beautiful graphics I’ve recently purchased. Here’s one, a gorgeous gift from Sadie, how clever she is!

A sweet gift from my friend Sadie
This week has been very busy with meetings, hospital visits and extremely lively children! Phew even more joy to have some time to recuperate. On Thursday we had Dave’s first appouintment since he started dialysis. The doctors are very pleased with him and have stopped his blood pressure meds after 4 years of taking them. The dialysis reduces the problem of high BP :) . Now that he’s no longer worrying about his potassium and is drinking beer again and a few other high potassium foods, we were anxious to know if, as promised, the dialysis had taken out the excess from his body. Blood tests were done and normally we’d have had to wait until the next hospital visit to find out. However, it’s now possible for renal patients to check their results online. By logging in with his un and pw he can now see many of his records, the status of his illness and blood test results! I think it’s a fantastic idea. We checked this morning and his potassium level is perfect so he can continue to have a much more normal diet! I can’t emphasise enough how important that is for him. He’s also much less tired and not falling asleep all evening. Brilliant!
