….I did an update methinks! I had planned to do one last Sunday but during the morning I heard some very sad news from a close colleague at school which really changed the mood of the day. Other colleagues were told on the Monday and it had a big effect on us all that day. Hard to act cheerful and normal when your heart is hurting for a much loved friend. (She had lost her dad in a tragic accident on the Saturday night). I will be speaking to her this evening and finding out how she’s coping, bless her.
Anyway, I’ve been doing all sorts of things since I last wrote on here. At school we had our library visit and trip to the fire station, both of which went brilliantly well. The children were an absolute credit to us! At the library they were able to enrol and borrow a book. At the fire station they had a wonderful show which included watching a fireman slide down the pole and put all his uniform as if he’s just been called out on a shout. They even got to use the hose! Here’s a picture of them listening to one of the firefighters talking about the engine.
I can’t emphasise enough how much I’m enjoying my class this year! They really are the most lovely, delightfully keen and caring little group. I can hardly believe that after next week I’ll only have one more term with them
Yesterday I held my parents consultation meetings where I inform mums and dads how their children are doing (we do three a year). I always enjoy it as it’s a lovely opportunity to chat and hear how different they often are at home!
This weekend we’re going to Birmingham and staying over on the Saturday night. We’re meeting up with Dave’s eldest son who we haven’t seen for ages. He finished Uni in Coventry last summer and now works in Birmingham. I’m looking forward to an opportunity to explore the wonderful Bullring shopping centre (that’s me, never one to miss a great shopping opportunity!) . The weekend away is the main reason I’m doing an update today as, tomorrow, I’ll be making the house spick and span ready for my friend Jane who is dog sitting for us! Have a great weekend everyone

Hi Nikki !
May time soften her sorrow.
Oh no, I’m so sorry for your friend’s loss. How horrible.
On a lighter note, I’m so happy you’re having so much fun & getting so much pride from your pupils this year ! That’s truly fantastic !
Have a safe trip to / stay at Birmingham this weekend.
Sending you tons of hugs XOXOX
Just checking in. Sounds like you and Dave are doing well; we are basically the same. So sorry to read about your friend’s loss; I’m sure you are shouldering those emotions as well. I basically destroyed my blog but hope to put it back together at Eastertime – a long, lovely stretch of days off followed by about six weeks until the real break. Love you, Julia
I do feel for your friend, I hope she’s doing ok. And her mum too. Must be a very difficult time for both of them.
Look at me, visiting early morning! I get a bit of free time if I don’t have to sit and type a diary entry first thing. Especially on days when I barely get any visits (although, not according to the statcounter!!!!!!)
Ooh, never been to Bullring. I would rather like to go there one day. And I badly need to do some shopping. I told Bill last night that I am going need to buy a stack of new make up soon. ‘how much will that cost?’ he asked. ’bout three hundred quid’ I said. He went quite pale! ha ha ha! Ok, won’t be quite that amount, but a goodly sum. I’m not replacing it with rubbish. It’s all been ruined by a tiny little person, who twice this week has managed to get her mitts on my make up bag. All I have to say about that is it took a lot of baby shampoo to unclog her hair yesterday bathtime!
time I was off for a shower. I’m glad you have got such a good class this time. Must make the world of difference to you to have nice tiddlers to teach.
have a great Friday xxxx
Aww that is so sad for your friend hard news to take, and my heart goes out to her and her family.
Must be sad knowing what a good class you have to know that time with them will run out soon, where has this school year gone?
Taryl will be taking his exams and leaving college.. then what ???
Have a lovely weekend and be sure to show us what you bought
Luv n hugs Pixie
Hi sweetie !
I hope you had a nice weekend & will have a great coming week. I hope yourself & Dave are doing fine.
Thinking about you. Much love OXOXOXO
morning!
gross. If that is what an entire country thinks they should taste like, then it’s a very sad affair indeed. I much prefer British strawbs, but still got a long wait for those haven’t we?
the strawbs were organic ones from Spain, and v.nice. Last year I tried some strawbs from another country (will email you with the name, as I don’t want to offend anyone by writing it here!( and they were vile. I will never buy that particular type of strawbs again, they tasted like feet!
yes it was something parky yesterday. blimey. I thought it was mild because the sun was out (idiot!) so niether humbug nor I had hats on. I only had a lightweight raincoat on, and no scarf. Blimey I was freezin’! Good thing humbug has her buggysnuggle on her pram, that’s all I can say.
Bill was reading a forecast for Easter, and it sounds like it’s going to be v. cold. I’m still hopeful of snow! I won’t give up until we hit May!
time I had a brew. have a fab day, speak to you soon. xxxx
Hi Nikki, how nice that you love your job, I’m sure kids feel it & love you. How was your weekend? It’s fun to leave for a weekend, I love it. Birmingham sounds like a big city. I’m sorry about your friend’s loss, it’s so hard. I imagine how saddened you all were. I hope you’re having a lovely week, hugs
Good evening sweetie !
Thanks so much for stopping by today & for your kind tag. I just meant to say viability my website doesn’t depend on the number of visitors, but I checked my stats & saw that last month for instance, I got at least half the visitors I got last June. A bit disappointing, but at least it makes me wonder how much web space I really do need. (and pay for) May reduce it now. Just wondering.
As for the graphics themselves … I hope to offer new things, probably all free, so … we’ll see.
I wish you, Dave & the doggies a wonderful Easter weekend. I hope you have a good Friday tomorrow. XOXOX Sending you big hugs OXOXO … and of course I hope you & Dave are doing fine.
