almost but not quite….

What you ask? Bored! But note I said not quite…..but verging on which is so very unusual for me. The weather has been awful today, wall to wall rain :( Can’t really complain though as it’s been so good for ooooh maybe a week?! We’ve been going out at least once a day either to the shops or to take the dogs for a walk but I’m afraid it was much too wet for either today. Doggies don’t mind as they’re deeply happy at the moment with both of us being at home. So I have to admit to doing a bit of mooching today. However I soon found a job that needed doing…sorting out all my school paperwork which has mounted up over the last three years (boring!). I gave Dave the job of giving the coffee machine a really good clean. It’s been sadly neglected since I bought my Tassimo but I’ve come to the conclusion that my big old cappuccino/latte machine makes the best coffee and I’ve had a bag of Starbucks coffee waiting to be used for a while now.

A job that I’d been determined to do at some point during the six weeks has been to take off and wash the sofa covers. This is a task I’ve been putting off for two years, gasp! I’ve been regularly washing the cushion covers of course but not the frame covers which are huge. I was worried they’d be too big for the washing machine but it was fine and they were dry within an hour of being on the line (yesterday this was!). Our lovely sofa looks brand spanking new again. :) Here’s a photo so’s you can see.

our lovely butter coloured sofa

Much as I love it, it’s not the ideal colour with two dogs in the house who love nothing more than to jump up on there and snuggle up to us (complete with sometimes wet feet!).

For some time now I’ve been hankering after a piece of Pilgrim jewellery. There’s something about their designs which really appeal to me but they can be quite expensive. So I’ve been watching out on eBay. Sunday night I finally got a necklace which I ‘ll keep for wearing at school. The children are always fascinated by what I wear and I know they’ll love this!

I think to be a designer for Pilgrim, who are a Danish company, must be absolutely wonderful as it seems as though they allow their designers to let rip with their imagination! In another life that would be the perfect job for me :)

Thanks so much for stopping by tonight !
You’re again soooo ever welcome for Dave’s card … I know how it feels good to be remembered, specially when you’re not feeling that good.
Bad weather ? I’m having my part, if it can reassure you ! LOL I’m feeling in an autumnal mood, completely ! Anyway, I feel inside myself that the summer season stopped the day we moved. :(
Tomorrow I’ll make some cheddar muffins, and I really can’t wait !!
Big hugs & good night OXOXOXO

Your daily life is so common but makes me smile.
I’m not good at speaking and writting in English, but
through your journal I learns vivid English and I’ll try to speak
    in English.
    Um… I love to sing Westlife’s songs.

  6. Hi Nikki! I can’t imagine having those colors with dogs! I have a dark blue one and that is the only one that Bristol our lab is allowed on. She is a yellow lab though! My Yorkies don’t shed so they can get on anything they want. I get bored when I’m off too long too. We only have two weeks from today and we are back. I am excited! I am in 4th grade this year! I had to laugh at your comment about the Flats! I told Sadie I remember the one in the movie with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. Can’t remember the movie name! I loved that one. It probably was a Hollywood made place! Hope you have a good day. Hugs

  7. Beautiful necklace, Nikki! It’s funny how there are some jobs we always put off…in my case it is cleaning the oven. It’s very clean at the moment and I tell myself I will not let it get too dirty but I bet i will because it is not a job I enjoy doing!
We are having a really dreadful Summer! Could get me depressed if I thought too much about it!
