and so it begins….

…another new year, another new set of children. Today has been lovely. Although the first day doesn’t necessarily reflect how the class is going to be as a whole, I can usually get a sense of what they’re going to be like. A noisy class on the first day doesn’t bode well (last year’s lot)! A quiet start with everyone listening does and I certainly got that feeling today :) A few children had tears, more than a few mums did too! The children soon settled though when they realised I’m not an ogre :) The morning went very swiftly and by 1.15pm most of the class had gone home again leaving me with the oldest children, all 9 of them! A lovely relaxing afternoon ensued with me and the girls playing with Barbie (always a favourite!), being served copious amounts of ‘food and coffee’ in the home corner cafe and building a marble run for the boys. It always fascinates me how, in the afternoons, given a choice of a range of activities, invariably the girls will choose drawing, painting, Barbies etc and the boys will go for cars, lego, dinosaurs (or anything which requires sound effects!).

The last couple of days have been good. Monday we had our wonderful Clarins massage and facial and we left the salon feeling like we could face anything! We’ve all promised that we’ll treat ourselves more often. Yesterday was spent dressing up the classroom ready for the littles. The sunflowers that the last class grew from seeds in June, are now flowering outside the classroom window but are very disappointing this year. I grow them every year and this is the smallest they’ve ever been. I’ll try to remember to take photos tomorrow to compare with the ones I took last year.

Last but not least, if you’re as big a fan of Sadie’s moodgirls as I am, she has a fabulous new set out (including the lovely one of ‘me’ relaxing at the top of the page. A link to her site is under my ‘graphics used’ list in the middle column :) .

  1. Hi Nikki, I’m so glad the year is starting well for you. What a great idea to go to Clarins for a massage & facial. I imagine how good you felt after. Sorry for not visiting more often, big hugs

  2. How lovely to have a good start to the school year.
That is a shame on the sunflowers.. perhaps they needed more sun and not as much rain that we have had this year?

Mood girls are fab and off to have a further look.

    Hugs Pixie

  6. ok.am trying again! first up, I want to thank you again for the little cup, I LOVE IT :em70: ,it’s getting plenty of use. :em33:

Marco P-W, gosh, isn’t he lovely?! I do have a soft spot for him, more so when his face breaks into a smile. He looks so sweet. When he’s being snarly and busy he’s a bit scary, but smiley Marco is lovely. :) Lee walking out – I MISSED IT!!! I was in the bathroom removing my nail varnish! Ah well, I’m sure I didn’t really miss much. I knew Rosie would go first, we hardly saw anything of her, and yet when they showed ‘the best bits’ it looked like she had had quite a good time. I think Kelly the fish mouth will go next. Hope so, she annoys me quite a bit, don’t know why.

Was it me, or did Barry Mc, call Marco ‘Marcus’ the other night??!!!! Shocking!

Don’t know what to watch tonight, HK or the BB reunion. I’m leaning more towards HK I think.

Right. Time for a brew. made some cookies this morning, so might snaffle (another) one with a brew! wonder which cup I’ll use!!! :em50:

hope your week has gone well. oodles of love to you xxxxx

p.s about the comments. I’m not sure if it’s something to do with the video script, ‘cos sometimes I have a real time trying to load into your page.

  7. Hi Nikki Glad to hear the new kids on the block seem to be shaping up well. Yes I can imagine that noisy on the first day like the last lot must be a bad sign, you’d think they’d be overawed for at least a day :) Glad you enjoyed your facial etc. sounds wonderful. Have a relaxing weekend xxx

  8. hello! I had no trouble getting here today Nikki, and I Notice there are no vids, so perhaps that was part of my comment trouble. Who knows?!

Well, I’m not surprised you don’t like this weather! It’s what I call headache weather, it’s niether one nor t’other, and the high pressure just does my head in. Gives me headache. :em41:

You took the words out of my mouth! I said to Bill yesterday that I must ask NIkki if she saw Ziggy in HK, trying hard to get on camera! :em20:

I watched both HK and BB R last night (stupid rugby!) ooh, no, actually I watched BB R, started watching HK but got too tired so Bill has taped it. I must watch it! Forgot all about it!

I’m glad you said Suri was only the cutest baby after humbug! :em46:

I’ll pop the biccie recipe in the post for you. Be nicer, I’ve got it saved on a recipe card, so I’ll do that for you next week. :em70:

time I was off. going to go and watch HK.
    xxxxx
