The start of what is always the worst few weeks of the year for me….school report writing! Thirty to do, each of which have 7 pages, ugh! You’d think after all this time it would get easier but no it gets harder. First of all we have to input up to 104 assessments per child and then write about four sentences on how they’ve done in each of six subjects. One report takes about an hour and a half. Once I’ve done one I’m not usually ready to write another for a good while as I have to clear my mind and start thinking about the next child. Back in the days when I used to smoke, it would be ciggie time between each report, I found it very helpful! This afternoon I’ve updated all my assessments and written two reports so am quite pleased with that. The biggest accomplishment is to actually have started as that’s always the hardest part of all.
Last night we watched ‘The Last King of Scotland‘. A fascinating account of the rise and fall of the Ugandan dictator, Idi Amin. Forrest Whittaker so deserved his best actor Oscar but the scrumptious James McAvoy wuz robbed of the best supporting award! His acting was faultless throughout. I can’t remember who he lost out to now, he better have been good!
Thought I’d just post a couple of photos of something I bought on Saturday. I’m a bit of a sucker for pot pourri……not just any old pot pourri though. It has to look beautiful and be very tastefully scented. I find that M&S fulfil on both counts. This week I bought a box of sweetpea and hyacinth and one of lavender.

Well done on getting started with the report writing, something as a parent we don’t always appreciate how much hard work goes into it.
Your pot pourri looks divine and wish I could smell it.. might have to have a peek in M&S, not some where I would have thought of for things like that.
Have a great evening
Hugs Pixie
OH, Nikki – thirty reports times one and one half hours each. It’s mindblowing. Well, I’m trying to escape all that but can’t quite realize it’s summertime yet. I slept in an hour or so – all I could manage – but I’ll do better soon. The King of Scotland movie sounds great. Right now I just need a good dose of fluff – Music and Lyrics with Hugh Grant just starting. Oh, the christening outfit. I wore a coral summer sweater set with a print skirt. Not my usual color scheme, but it was flattering somehow. I’m missing the baby right now – not the parents – just the baby!!! Roy is, too. We talked about it at supper. We are besotted. Well, I’ll think of you at your work. The potpourri looks lovely, so give it a whiff every now and then. Aromatherapy and all that. Hugs, Julia
good old M&S, I especially love their Christmas pot pourri.
And their lavender air freshener is gorgeous. got one the other week for the downstairs loo and can’t resist having a little spray each time I go in there (Dudley’s toilet is in there so that’s my excuse!!!)
well done on cracking on with the reports.sounds like a lot of hard work. It’s not something I have ever really thought about, how much work ‘behind the scenes’ goes on for teachers of little ones.
well, you have a good day
it’s a bit brighter, but I think it’s still going to be showery, grey clouds are looming! xxxx
