Well I’m now into my last week of the holidays and time is of the essence. Jobs to get done before I hurl myself back into the fray of school. We’re having a party for friends and family in September so this has been on my mind a lot over the last few days. So, very briefly, the rest of the holiday and then, if you’re interested, please click on the pic below to be taken to a series of annotated photos which will show a bit more detail.
We spent most days with Dave’s three sons who were lovely, lots of fishing for them (not me!) and we also took them to see Wall-E in Inverness. Our special day soon came round and literally ,at about 2.50pm, we asked two lovely ladies who worked in a newsagents in Dornoch to be our witnesses! They were thrilled and it’s thanks to them that we have so many great photos plus a video of the ceremony. The sun was shining and we had a wonderful time! Later in the evening we went out for a fabulous meal which I’ve described in the photo stream.
Then we had a day’s honeymoon before we had to start our trek home. Driving through the Highlands and the Cairngorms was stunning. We called into Edinburgh to see friends after staying overnight with more friends who have a cottage on the Balmoral estate. From Edinburgh we had an eight hour journey which seemed never ending. The dogs were brilliant, though, and slept from start to finish! When looking at the pics on Flickr, be sure to go right on the stream, rather than left, to ensure seeing the relevant photos.

Hi Nikki !
I’ll be having a proper look at them on Flickr tonight.
The sun made an apparition today & is meant to stay a bit this week, so I guess Summer isn’t totally over. I hope the sun was shining at your place too, today, and that we both will enjoy a lovely & sunny last week of vacation.
You were so pretty on your wedding photos … Dave & the doggies too, of course !
I hope you had a nice day today. Wishing you a nice evening, sweetie. Big hugs OXOXOX
love the photos. Note to self: do not look at scrummy food before you’ve had something for brekkie. Now I’m going to spoil myself with a small fry up!
You were lucky with the weather on your Big Day. Your shoes were perfect. I really love them. (You just know what I’m like, and how I always check out the shoes before the rest of any outfit. I always do this, so be warned on Thursday!)
Can’t believe how quickly summer holidays have gone this year. Poor kids! I remember how I always used to think ‘yey, six weeks off’, back in the day when I was a youngster. Then I’d be bored and have ‘nothing to do’ (oh the luxury!) then, about a week before we went back, I’d find something really interesting to do and be gutted that I hadn’t thought of it earlier on and wasted all that time!
well it’s early. Bill is back at work today, so I’m all jolly and happy about getting back to our normal routine,he’s huffing and puffing about like an angry bear! xxxxxx
great minds!
I was just heading this way to say thank you so much for visiting this afternoon. We had a great time, and humbug has been playing with her gifts all afternoon (the cats are currently on the table, but have been placed on the back door, dishwasher and fridge and various stages!) It was so lovely to meet you properly, and you are kind for letting me waffle on and on and on and on! I don’t get a lot of adult conversation during the days!
Absolutely, must do it again. Preferably when it’s not so warm so we can take a photo without me looking like a beetroot!
I feel guilty though, didn’t get you anything to take away (apart from earache), you were very kind and generous. Much appreciated.
better go and check on rascal chops, she’s watching Charlie & Lola, while she guzzles her milk. xxxxx
do you have no shops in town or garden centres that sell Yankee tarts? The price is usually under a pound, I could be wrong, but I think I pay about 75p per tart at our shop in town. But the mixed box you have bought sounds like a pretty good deal.
What sort of flavours do you like? I like that lemon/lavender one, but I know what you mean about it being sickly sweet. I’m always excited for the autumn ones to arrive. There is a website. (yankeecandle.co.uk), but, they don’t sell tarts on it. Even so, it’s good to look at so you can get an idea of the scents they make. I’ve just spotted Cranberry Chutney, which is described as ‘Fresh cranberries, orange zest, rosemary, raisins, and a touch of golden honey’, sounds rather lovely. Will have to look out for that one
Christmas ones are nice too, usually piney fresh.

Glad Rex & Mikey had a row. To answer your Q, yes, it is hard to choose a winner. I don’t want Kat or Rex to win, or Lisa, she’s got that loot now anyway. I think Sara will be out tonight so to quote the genius that is Mario ‘she’s out of the equation!’, Darnell I love, but I hate how mean he’s become, and he’s still talking like huggy bear which is annoying. Mo I don’t mind, but I don’t want him to win, he’d just spend it all on buckets of KFC anyway. Who does that leave? Mikey and Rachel. I hope it does come down to those two. Mikey is a grumpy git, and Rachel needs to learn to stick up for herself, but one thing you can say about both is they have been consistent throughout and I think, genuine. It would be so funny if Rachel won just to p*ss off the others who have bullied her the whole time. Mikey deserves it for being pretty honest, and even more so if he’s had a corking row with Rex the Not very posh posh twit!
That’s all from Big Brother’s Little Mouthy Sister!
