back to school soon

Two weeks today since we broke up for Easter, golly gosh! I’m trying to remind myself that I was actually quite sad to be away from the children for a fortnight, but it’s not working. I do love my time at home. Getting up when I feel like it is always the best bit as I don’t do mornings terribly well :) Come Monday, though, I know that once I’ve taken that initial step out of bed I’ll be fine.

Speaking of school, I was horrified to read in the paper yesterday something that our crazy government wants schools to do. If a pupil is permanently excluded (or expelled in normal speak) then that school must receive an expelled pupil from another school in exchange! The usual and most common reason for a child to be excluded is because they are totally disrupting their class, are violent to others and are unteachable. It’s never done lightly and takes much time and consideration before that decision is made. We’ve never had to do it but we’ve come very close. The welfare of the other children in the class are of prime concern. So now the government proposes that those children receive another violent and disruptive pupil in exchange! Arrrrrrrgh. Unfortunately it’s becoming more and more of a problem with ever younger pupils :( .

On a happier note :) sometime soon Dave and I are planning to visit Cambridge again as a huge new shopping centre has just opened up and we’d like to have a nosy around. There’s also a brand new John Lewis which we haven’t seen yet and I’d like to see if it’s as good as the one we go to locally…… any excuse to visit my favourite shop :)

    Hello sweetie :)
Ooooh sorry it’s almost the end of your vacations. Sure they always go too quickly.
A new shopping centre in Cambridge ? That must be nice. I hope you’ll get the chance to get there & see how it is.
Enjoy the rest of the break.

And oh … quite a stupid decision from your gvt about the exchange of excluded pupils. :(

Big hugs sweetie ! :) XOXOXO

I’m getting pretty sick of hearing GB’s stupid rot. He’s an idiot, and only PM by default. If he had the slightest bit of gumption he’d call for a gen.election. Sound like I hate labour don’t I? Not the case, I just don’t like GB, he’s a total fool. This is jus the last in a long line of idiotic ideas they have spouted out.

sorry you are at the end of your hols :( but, on the plus side, not long until it’s summer hols! :)

thanks for your email, I have sent the briefest of replies. Little one seems to have shortened her daytime nap by 40 mintues, which isn’t a problem, but of course, gives me even less chance to do stuff after I’ve done a bit of housework! Of course, my latest books turned up just as she was waking up, so no chance to sit and have a good read today either! Oh well. Never mind.

lovely weather we’re having today. :)
    xxxxx

back again. Just wanted to say not to worry about stopping by tomorrow. I’m not going to post this weekend. I have been looking thorugh my stats again and am getting fed up of the same old faces who show up time and time again, but fail to even say hello. I am going to spend any spare time (!) reading my books and mags. I get fed up of providing daily entertainment for other people, especially as it eats up time that I could use on someone who’d appreciate it – me!!!
so, have a lovely weekend, and speak to you soon. lots of love xxxxx

Hi, Nikki, I hope you are sleeping soundly in preparation for back to school day. We’ve had company this weekend, so no bloghopping, but it all turned out so very well with Matt getting the job he wanted. We are all very excited! Have a great day! Hugs, Julia
