Haven’t done very much today except sleep, read, eat, play on computer and do some washing. After the last three busy days it’s been nice to just take things a little easier. Dave’s been happy pootling about in the garden. He decided to air the tent as it’s been a while since we used it (can’t see us using it again in a hurry either!). The dogs were very interested in it and I managed to get a couple of photos of them looking decidedly guilty sitting inside.

morning Nikki, happy Easter to you. Thanks for the order, byt he way. Much appreciated and I have already sent your graphic.
well, the flowers are beautiful. Gorgeous photo too.
And as for kids in childcare, ooh, don’t get me started. I am fully aware that some mums have to work, it’s not an option and given the chance they would stay at home. a friend of mine had just given birth to her second child, when her low life husband then decided to leave her for some flipperty jibbert, so she absolutely had to go back to full time work. It’s such a shame because she had planned to be a stay at home mum.
when bill and I decided to try for a baby we decided it was easier for me to be a housewife and not go out to work (despite people who knew nothing of our plans and who didn’t have to support me financially calling me ‘lazy’), that way we wouldn’t get used to a second wage and also, from the point of view of eventually being pregnant, I wouldn’t have to worry about the health implications of say moving stock if I was working in a shop and only a few weeks pregnant. We always knew that I would be a stay at home mum. No question. And I plan to be a sahm for all of humbugs childhood. When she’s ill, I want to be here for her. When she has school plays, I want to go and see her in them.
My sister has to work, and it’s a real pity. When my nephews fall and hurt themselves, it’s my Mum they run to for comfort as she is the one who looks after them.
I feel so sad for humbug, that by the time she gets older she might not have the option of being a sahm if she wants to . But we do have a plan to enable her to do whatever she wishes to do when she’s older.
But do you know what I really don’t get? The women who go to work and end up paying what must be almost all their wages out for childcare! And people who pay others to come in and clean their home because they are too tired, too busy and too short of time to do it themselves because they are working. It doesnt’ make sense to me. When you are a housewife people say ‘what do you do all day’ (oh, apart from loaf around doing my nails, hey?!) yet if I worked full time, had humbug in full time childcare and a cleaner or cook because I didn’t have time to do it, then everyone would understand why I’d need outside help and no one would say to my cleaner ‘what do you do all day’.! There seems to be a real problem letting people work in their own homes, looking after their families and making home life fun, interesting and most of all – strong.
As you can tell. I have an awful lot to say on this, but I do have to say once more, I understand that some women have to go out to work, and I wish that being at home as a mother was a real option for everyone. Not as a benefits thing as I we all know some people choose to do (watching Jeremy Kyle shows us that) but for those who want to be responsible for raising happy children to become happy well adjusted adults.
ok. I had better go now, or I’ll be here forever!
I’m glad all went well for Dave, and I completely agree, the NHS does a sterling job.
