My darling new adoption from Siobhan at MakeMyGraphics.

What with appointments, meetings, governor training, report writing and of course the day job too, it’s not been a week for blogging For the last four years I’ve been on the school governors meeting as teacher representative….not a job we volunteer for I hasten to add but one we’re coerced into doing. It entails attending meetings at least twice a term plus training at various times. The meetings take place in the evenings. But my term of duty ends in September so now we have to find someone to take my place…that won’t be an easy job!

I had an opticians appointment on Wednesday and have ordered myself some funky new burgundy coloured glasses along with a free pair of prescription sunglasses which are even more funky…orange, brown and red frames like these: I’ve been wearing the same specs for the last three years so I think it’s about time I updated! And they match my hair

Weather has been glorious all week. Today though is horribly muggy and overcast. We have my friend’s spaniel staying for the weekend. Bertie is a year old and totally mad! So it’s been a lively time so far – three nutty spaniels running around like crazy, what fun .
Yesterday I took my class around the school grounds for a nature walk. I’d only intended it to be for an hour but we ended up staying outside for the whole morning. The kids loved it and saw and found lots including newts, frogs and tadpoles in the pond, squirrels and a woodpecker in the secret garden, many different types of flowers all around and butterflies and lavender in the sensory garden. We collected items of interest and then they all had a go at sketching something after lunch. A blissful day!

Also earlier in the week we had a meeting for parents of children I’ll be getting in my class next year. It was very well attended and afterwards I met many of the children too. Tiny and sweet, it’s hard to imagine that in a few months they will be ready for school!
