done!

At last, I can rejoin civilisation, reports all written and printed. Each child gets seven pages of comments and photos of them throughout their Reception year. If your child is in Reception/Kindergarten and you only get a page of comments, demand more!! Seriously, it is a lot of work but a wonderful record for parents of their child’s first year of school. I hope they appreciate them!

Today is very hot (for the UK) at about 31c. England are playing Portugal in the quarter finals of the World Cup and I’m keeping up to date with it on the internet. It sounds like English tempers will be very frayed around the country with our national hero Wayne Rooney having been sent off just over halfway through the match….disaster! I’m not a huge fan but my son is so I can imagine how he’ll be feeling!

Three more weeks of school left. Next week my new class will come and spend the morning with me and my present class will do the same with their new teacher. then in the afternoon we have Sports Day. It looks like the weather is going to remain hot so we’ll be getting gazebos and large umbrellas out to protect them all, bless em!

Dave and I are resisting going out shopping for the next few weeks so that we have saved as much as possible for our Italian vacation. Our itinerary is now: flying into Venice for one night, train to Bologna for two nights, train to Florence for five nights and then train back to Bologna to catch a flight back to the UK. I’m hoping and praying that Dave will be fit enough to stand the heat we’re bound to encounter in Italy in August!

Sitting here listening to the new CD by Keane, what a BEEEEAUTIFUL album!!!! Track three is stunning.

Hi, Nikki, sorry to hear the sad news about England’s loss. I know you were into it. Congrats on the schoolwork. I wish my kids had had a kindergarten teacher like you.
My partner and I finished our vocabulary stuff Thursday, thank goodness. It turned out well enough in the end, and I enjoyed working with the youngish teacher. Ashley is here, so I’ll be offline for a few days. Hope you have a good week. Anticipation of that wonderful holiday will keep you going I’m sure! Hugs, Julia

Hi Nikki! Found your site through the word buddies at Google! I’m sorry about England loosing. Wow you go to school long over there. We got out back in early June. It sure sounds like you put alot into your school kids. That is wonderful. I worked with Kindergarten kids this past school year and I loved it. They are so much fun! Have a good Monday. Hugs

I am sure parents do and treasure them. I know you include photos too, so all in all, with your comments, what a marvellous record of their child life at school, something they don’t know much about.
I have been busy doing reports too! I have done one set, another one to go and that will be it! Hard to motivate myself with the heat we have been having the last few days. Not complaing though, I love it!
Have a great week! Not long now!

    Hi Nikki :)
Yeah glad you finished up your reports sweetie! well done :)
Isn’t it hot? Phew! Not easy sleeping when it’s this humid. The Thunderstorms passed over here yesterday without doing much but a bit of rumbling so it hasn’t cooled down at all yet.
It was terrible about England, gutted :(
Stupid idiot Wayne Rooney, but to be fair they hadn’t played well all through the tornament so only themselves to blame really. ;)
Took the flag off my car :( lol.
I haven’t been able to buy the new Keane Album yet, can’t wait though, it sounds like it’s good! :)

I’m listening to Lily Allen, loving her single – smile. :)
Bet you can’t wait for your Italian Trip? sounds great.
See ya later hon, I’m off to the shops now,
    Hugs :D

Hello Nikki, wow this is a lot of work for the children but how precious for the parents, it’s nice that you meet next year students. Your school sounds wonderful.
I hope it won’t be too hot in Italy, you’re going to have a wonderful time & it’s a great place to buy shoes, purses & more. I hope Dave will stand the heat, although 31C is quite hot especially if it’s humid. You must be so impatient to be in three weeks then to go to Italy, it’s a fantastic trip. You’re so lucky to be so close. Hugs

Yes it is neat to have the links all rolled-up, much better! I got mine working too!
Well tonight it was the turn of us French to lose! Forza Italia!
Well done for the reports, you must be so relieved! That certainly how I felt when I wrote the last!
We went to Italy but only stayed in Venice. And I absolutely loved it. I hope your holiday is special too and you come back with lots of great memories!
