But I’m happy as happy can be if somewhat shattered after a hectic, chaotic week! 43 days now where I don’t have to get up early and for most of the time do pretty much what I like
The school year finished today amid hugs, pressies, cards, videos and a party this afternoon to end their first year at school. The kids have pulled out all the stops this week and been absolutely delightful and a credit to me I’m so thankful to say. I actually believe they’re going to be ok now and I’m passing them all on to their new teacher with every confidence that they’ll make me proud next year. As I said before it’s been hugely hard work. The children who I’ve had to invest a large part of my efforts into (the ones with problems which stem from their upbringing) are the ones who I’ve found it hardest to lose. One child in particular who was adopted just before she started in my class last September. She’d been blessed with the most wonderful new mum and dad after nearly five years of a life that no one should ever have to experience. This year has been a topsy turvy time with numerous lows but also many wonderful highs. We end the year with a vastly changed child from the one who would continuously hurt other children, have the most awful temper tantrums where she would hit and kick me and the other adults who worked with her, swing from happy and sweet to angry and aggressive with the click of a finger. Receiving her sweet present and best of all her hug today are what make my job the best in the world!
Will try and make some long overdue visits tomorrow

Hi Nikki It sounds as though you worked a few miracles this year and your Summer break is well deserved. I can imagine your satisfaction, it must be wonderful to turn children around like that. Have a fabulous relaxing weekend Lots of love xxxx
sounds like a very rewarding job Nikki, even if it is hard work and probably totally infuriating at times.
Yes, if that wretch Charley lasts any longer than this week I have to switch off. She winds me up so much. I thought she’d really overstepped the mark when she started having a go at Brian. That’s like teasing a small kitten, he’s too sweet and kind to have her put the knife in. She is one nasty piece of work. Hilarious last night though, when the crowd chanting ‘get charely out’ could clearly be heard. How is she going to work that into her ‘the public love me’ story? It girl from South London. Good God, she really thinks she’s special.
Brian to win! I’m still annoyed that the one week she was up for the boot, she manages to worm her way back in. I’m furious about that actually.
I thought the name Grayson was pretty fab! It’s such a blokey thing, that I had to have a nice camp name for it!
enjoy the start of your hols xxxxx
