glorious day :o)

The weather did us proud today and came out for the town’s Rose Fair. There were 29 floats altogether and with a general theme of ‘Heroes’ many had chosen to do the emergency services which was perfect for a lot of the schools taking part. Kids dressed up as firemen, policemen, doctors, nurses etc! Our float stood out as the most imaginative but didn’t win because of our theme (in my opinion). Robin Hood isn’t quite the same! The winners were two of the 999 floats and one of a local heroine called Octavia Hill. Here’s some photos showing a few of the floats including ours :)

When we came home I immediately switched on the tv….and on it’s stayed….for the LiveEarth concert from Wembley. Highlights (for me) so far have been Genesis (my first ever favourite rock band who I still have a very soft spot for!), Razorlight, Kasabian, Black Eyed Peas and……..best of all, Red Hot Chilli Peppers. I just had to try and capture a photo of my hero Anthony Keidis who makes me weak at the knees. (I am very aware that I should be beyond this at my age!). Still to come….Spinal Tap which should be a HOOT!!

Dave set up the hammock this afternoon but guess who had to hijack it? When I did get a chance to lie in it I was thrilled, it’s soooooo comfortable!

I was so annoyed, I missed the Black Eyed Peas! Stayed up and watched Madonna though.
She is such a great performer, though I was annoyed she messed around with La Isla Bonita
the way she did. And what is it with her and her guitar!!!! She’s a true star though, absolutely
    fantastic.

crikey, you were up early today! Hope you’ve had a super sunday xxx
