good news!

Dave arrived home an hour or so ago, thank goodness! It’s been a strange weekend where I’ve felt very much in limbo and of course missing him very much. Just being on the end of a phone and having to wait for him to call me has been very, very tough as I’ve had all sorts of things going through my head. We’re particularly pleased to be reunited today as it’s 8 years since we first met :) I was in a local pub with a female friend (my first time out since leaving my ex husband only a few days beforehand). Dave (also recently separated)Â was down from Scotland visiting his mum and sister and came in the same pub with his brother-in-law (who I happened to know). I got chatting with them both and had a date with him the following night. He then had to return to his home 580 miles away! But we kept in touch and things went from there. Pure fate as it was only by chance that they decided to come into the pub that night.

Anyway, that’s by the by! Dave is rehydrated again but it’s something we’ve got to watch so I’m determined to go with him when he sees his consultant this week. I have a few questions to ask and I want to hear the answers.I know that must sound very bossy of me but on the odd occasions when Dave has gone on his own, he hasn’t always told me everything afterwards and it’s essential when it comes to his diet. If it was left to him he’d be having all sorts of things he should be avoiding! I need to know why he became so dehydrated and what we can do to avoid it and also be able to spot. He did one lot of dialysis over night in hospital which was incredibly painful and then he has to do one more before seeing his doctor on Wednesday who will then tell us what regime he wants him on. His poor tummy is very swollen and he three wounds. He’s not allowed to bath or shower for 30 days!!! He will also be off work all week much to his disgust :)

I will go back to work tomorrow as I feel much more with it and energetic. My head is still very clogged up and I have a 60 a day cough but I’ve worked with far worse than this in the past. I’ll be glad to see my lovely kids again :)

I can tell by Nikki Meez, that you are happy to have Dave back home! :) I am pleased as anything too. Sounds like he’s had an absolutely awful time recently. I wish him a lot of good luck for a speedy recovery, and hope that any treatment he’s going to have to have isn’t too horrendous.

Yes, I am planning on doing my nails later, and if I can find any face packs, I’ll stick one on too. I deserve it. I’ve been so busy today. Have done All the laundry (and so let Bill shove some things in the basket to wash. He’s been wanting a couple of fleecy tops washing for a while, but didn’t dare put them in, in case I went mental at him.Which I do from time to time if I’ve just cleared all the washing, and then check the basket and find someone – Bill – has filled it up with dirty clobber! grr!), and all of the housework. I might even get some time for myself tomorrow, when girly magoo has her nap! Tea has been made, ready for tomorrow night, so I literally have to stick stuff in the oven and that’s it!

ooh, yes, the boots are rather good aren’t they? And I think that that is what the labels really look like. It comes with a dust bag too! So naughty, but so brilliant! I am going to be twitchy all this week, waiting for my red bag to arrive. If it doesn’t, I’ll be gutted. I will give you a full report, complete with pics, when it arrives. :)

I’ve already said to Bill that maybe we can take little one out for dinner again next week. Same place. She loved it so much, and I will definitely be taking my camera this time. Her little happy face was a delight to see, and I was so proud of her. You are right, we did chat to her non stop, and I think that helps. She wasn’t bored at all, and they gave her one of their balloons, which made her very, VERY happy!

ok. I’m off. Have a lovely evening. Take it easy, and hope you feel 100% by tomorrow morn!

So much news here on your blog. I’m so happy to hear Dave is doing well even if you’re not LOL. What a trial! I am okay and seriously considering posting something today. Now or never I guess! I have been watching the Austen series faithfully. How wonderful they are! I love the little actresses chosen for the two I have seen so far and cannot wait for those still to come. Cranford is one of my favorites. I read it in a graduate course in Victorian fiction about thirty years ago. I still remember the cow eating the tablecloth, as that detail separated the men from the boys when the teacher spot checked for authentic reading. Happily, I had read my lesson! Judi Dench will be divine. Love and hugs! Julia
