christmas shopping
….what with that Ofsted inspection and going away for the weekend, last week, there’s been no time to write. In order to try and get Christmas done and dusted on the pressie front, I booked us into a hotel in Milton Keynes last Saturday night. The plan was to go Saturday morning, shop, stay over and finish the shopping on Sunday. Best laid plans! Hotel was booked about two months ago and then when we were about two weeks away, Dave realised that it clashed with one of his shoots. Well I suppose I could have put my foot down and said, sorry, this has been planned for ages! But, and this is something I’d never have done with my first husband, 
, because Dave is such a love when it comes to taking me shopping 
, I rearranged our Saturday so that he could go. I caught a train to where my son Tom lives (not too far from MK) and we spent the day together…lunching, shopping and a visit to the cinema to see Body of Lies (excellent). Then Dave drove down after he’d finished shooting and we headed off to MK. As it happened, one day was plenty long enough to get most of my shopping done

Milton Keynes was new to me and I was quite surprised by the place. While the shopping centre itself is huge and full of top notch shops, the roads around it were weird and confusing! Arriving in the dark meant that it looked like a ghost town. In fact it would make a superb location for one of those films/series where the world has ended for the majority with just a few survivors. Inside The Centre MK, as you’re walking round, you frequently hear an otherworldy, disembodied female voice making announcements which reminded me of futuristic films such as Blade Runner. 
You could say I have a vivid imagination!! Here’s a pic of the massive Christmas fair inside the centre.
Ofsted went extremely well, the worst part was the 5 days beforehand. The actual day went very quickly. I was observed for about 40 mins and had some lovely feedback. Nothing has been published yet so it’s all hush hush until the parents have been informed. Phew! Three years until the next one

Oh that sounds fun going to a different shopping place.. only been near MK all those roundabouts is all I remember lol.. glad the dreaded Ofsted is behind you and hope you are all keeping warm.. its mighty chilly here today!

Bill was in MK yesterday, for his day of ‘training’. Well worth it!!! They are cooped up in the office all day, so he wouldn’t have seen the Christmas decs.
Our town centre has a little funfair thing set up over Christmas, which is nice. Little one will go beserk when she’s old enough to go on it by herself! I’ll never get her off the thing I’m sure.
Been pretty busy again today. Sometimes I wonder why I set myself so many extra projects and crafty things to do when my time is so packed full anyway, but then, that’s who I am so that is why. Want to make my gingerbread dough at some point today. Tomorrow we’re off to buy a Christmas tree then Bill and the girl are off to see MIL (weather permitting) so I can get on with decorating. He’s off all next week, so we’ll be out and about and busy then too. Hopefully be able to get some Christmas shopping sorted out. I was able to buy that bag that I told you about last night! Totally excited! Took a while to get the order to go through, so if you ever plan to order one let me know, so I can advise on the actual way of doing it instead of the way it looks as if you’d do it. Ooh, saw a fab coat in Closer today, was dribbling over it, thinking how Prada-esque it looked. Primark! £17! I’m going to look for it on Tuesday, but I can bet eight million pounds our branch won’t have it. They NEVER have the stuff that I want.
Right. Got to go. Freezing today isn’t it? I can’t believe how wintery it is already.

We are staying here for Christmas coz Zeno has to work. My mom and dad are coming on the 20th and will stay here till Jan. 3rd. So I’m pretty jolly right now 
LOL! Can’t wait to feel 100% well and go out looking for a li’l Christmas ornament. All our decorations are at my parents’ and I did not find anything nice here yet. Zeno’s colleagues told him we should go to Edinburgh or Dundee. We’ll see if times allow
