lovely jubbly :o)

Place: a hammock in a quiet garden somewhere in England
Time: Saturday afternoon, late August
Ambiance: peaceful, sunny and cheerful
Listening to: children playing and laughing, church bells heralding a wedding, a light breeze rustling through the trees, birdsong

Yes!! What a difference a day makes, the sun has been out all day and for most of it I’ve been relaxing in the garden having earlier canceled coffee and lunch dates. As I lay in my hammock I watched a myriad of butterflies swarming over our buddleias, of which we have plenty. Up until now it’s been a very poor year for butterflies so it’s great to see so many around today. Mostly Red Admirals with one or two of my favourite Painted Ladies. I was unable to capture a photo of them as the cooling breeze was constantly blowing the branches they were on and making them fly away. However I’ve found a photo I took last last year of a Painted Lady. Also photos of my gorgeous lacecap hydrangea which is at my absolute favourite stage when the flowers have turned green. I absolutely love everything about this shrub, I think it’s magical and the combination of the green and the pink is fabulous.

Painted Lady Hydrangea flower, love the green with the pink! the pink stage My favourite stage, I love green flowers!

Tomorrow, even if the weather is sunny and hot I won’t be sunbathing. But, I actually don’t mind as I’m spending the day with my son, Tom, shopping! I haven’t seen him since his birthday, two months ago and I’ve missed him so much so we’ve arranged to meet up at a town which is halfway between where we live. Just me and Tom which will be great as when Dave is there all they do is mess about and tease me….like men do!

Its been good here too and although I hide from the sun I do love the fact is dry!
I love watching butterflies and have tried to snap one.. your lucky with the one above and your lacecap hydrangea is gorgeous. Your so right they are magical.. my buddleia we had to chop down it grew huge nearly as tall as the house! .. my fault as I didn’ prune it last year.. its sprouting so may be next year it will look good.

Have a great day tomorrow with your son.. its so good when we see our away from home boys..

    Hugs Pixie

actually, it’s a good day to go shopping. The sun might be out, but it’s a lot cooler than yesterday. I’ve got the bedroom window open as I sit here typing (the computer table is right beside the window) and my little handies are feeling quite cold. It’s lovely! :em69:

I’m glad you got a nice sunny day, and your afternoon sounds like it was very pleasant. I hope you had a nice glass of something to go with it! :em50:

Our Buddleia used to be really fabulous, (until scissor happy Bill got scissor happy!), but for the past couple of years it’s not been so glorious, and the odd thing is, the colour of the purple has turned darker. It used to be a gorgeous light pinky purple, like the one in your photo, but now it’s a dark, muddy colour purple. Still pretty, but I think I preferred it lighter.

Ok, I’m off. I will reply to your email later on .Have a great day shopping! xxx :em70:
