more of the same!

I suspect the next few days are going to be fairly similar on the mood girls front :) Today I’ve been doing both again! Dave is improving by the day and even walked into town today to have his wound looked at and to have his bloods taken. The nurse said he’s doing really well and doesn’t have to wear a dressing any more as the scar is very clean and dry. The blood tests are important so that we can see how he’s doing without the dialysis. Beer, cider, fruit ect are all banned again for now until he’s told he can resume it. On Wednesday we have an appointment with his consultant, so we should know then, how long he wants him to refrain from dialysing. Yesterday I spent virtually all day lazing in the garden finishing off Harry Potter. I’m so sad that there are no more to come. I’m even thinking of starting them all over again! So much has now been explained it might be quite interesting to do that although I’m certainly not short of books to read.

On Saturday my mum brought two of my nieces round to visit. It’s been a while since I’ve seen them and they’re growing up so quickly! Lovely, sociable girls! Here’s a photo of them both, Chloe on left, Francesca on right.

To be honest I’ve always been a little wary of posting photos of family or even talking about them without their permission. I’m sure all of you who have public blogs like me, will understand where I’m coming from. But I’ve been told by my mum that it’s perfectly alright, in fact they welcome it!

Bought the latest edition of InStyle magazine today. I really love this magazine as it ‘s always bang on with what’s hot without being too stuffy and in awe of designers who are totally out of reach. It’s great for star spotters/people watchers (like me) too. They have a website which has a daily vote for the most stylish star of the moment. If you’re interested, click here. It got me thinking about who my favourite style icon is. There are many I like but the one who I feel, nearly always gets it right for little women, has to be Kylie. (But only since she’s returned to the limelight after her breast cancer treatment). I think a lot of her stylishness has to do with where she lives. She always looks chic in my opinion. When you’re as tiny as she is, it’s not easy getting it right!

I hope the blood tests for Dave come out OK for him.. will cross my fingers for him..

Your nieces are lovely and I understand what you mean about sharing photos.. I know my youngest son and his GF don’t mind but my eldest son isn’t so keen to have his face shown.. and I wouldn’t force the issue.

I am not hip with fashion, having to wear what is comfy is the main thing.. style and fabric..
Did manage to find a pair of flip flops today that didn’t hurt my feet.. that was a good achievement for me lol

    Have a great evening
    Hugs Pixie

Hello Nikki, I didn’t know about Dave, I’m glad to read he’s recovering well & I hope the blood tests are OK. I love fashion in August, fall fashion is one of my favorite because of the colors & textures. Thinking of you, big hugs

I am shocked you don’t agree with RM’s comments! I think he’s spot on, that we should all consider ourselves fabulous! It’s like when you go out somewhere and you see someone dressed in a way that they really shouldn’t be wearing. I’m always torn. They look horrible, but at the same time, I envy them their confidence. I am always worrying about lumps and bumps showing, and then there are people who wear whatever they want. And I think that’s what RM is trying to say: believe in yourself and the chances are you will look good. Ok, that’s not always the case, but you know what I mean.

And no, I won’t give out a list! Reason being if I do, then I will get loads and loads of extra suggestions that I simply won’t have time to do. I just want suggestions/ideas to kind of reinforce(for want of a better word) what I have already decided on or be totally new and one that I can add. For example, I would never make a motorbike one for obvious reasons (not that many of my net friends are bikers, but you see what I mean) but I’ve had some suggestions today that I hadn’t thought of but will be including. Hope that makes sense!

Right, time I was off. Bedtime for little humbugs! xxxxxxx
