…because I couldn’t think of one! Hmmm so what have I been up to this week? Well, back to school on Monday…it always takes me a couple of days to get back into the swing of things, and the kids too, although a few of them came back eager to set to work again, which was lovely. I know how lucky I am to teach an age group that adores school, and spend their days off restless to get back to the classroom!
Tuesday, I went to the cinema with a group of female friends to see Sex and the City. I’d been anxious to see it since hearing of the plans to make the film. I’ve been a fan right from the very first episode ten years ago. I can proudly claim that I didn’t miss one single show and the night it ended in 2004, I was bereft! It was hard to believe that the characters I’d lived and sympathised with, so wholeheartedly, were no more. So I was obviously ecstatic when I heard we were being given the opportunity to catch up with them four years on! As we entered the cinema, I was amazed at the number of people who’d turned out for it……all female apart from a handful of men. I was not disappointed, it was stunning from start to finish. Beautiful to behold, highly emotional (tears of sadness, laughter and happiness!) and hugely entertaining. We all came out crying with joy and clutching our sides – we hadn’t laughed so much for a long, long time! I’d already seen a lot of photos of SJP’s outfits for the film but nothing had prepared me for the fabulous feast of fashion the film had in store for us. Almost a new outfit per frame! Here’s a couple of my favourite outfits, both beautifully accessorised by the luscious Dior Extremes.
Charley remains unwell although today and yesterday have been good days for her. Thursday was a particularly poorly day as she collapsed when Dave took her for a walk and refused food until late in the evening. All we can hope is that the bad days become less frequent as time goes on. The vet is due to reassess the situation on Friday.
Dave came home in high spirits on Tuesday as he’d been filmed for the local news channel (a first for him!). Topic in question was the decline in the beer trade with pubs closing all over the place. As selling beer is Dave’s job, he was an ideal person to interview. The following morning the news item was broadcast with a very nervous looking Dave answering a couple of questions. As we didn’t manage to see it at that point but only heard about it, we waited for it to come on later in the day….to no avail. But I managed to find it on the programme’s website and sent the link to friends and family. By the morning the clip had been changed, still the same subject, but this time without Dave
BUT the funniest and most coincidental thing ever…….Dave had been replaced by none another than my good friend Sadie’s husband (who also works in a profession linked to pubs!). Bear in mind that Sadie and I have never met and that there’s no link between the two men, and you get a most spooky connection! A very small world indeed!!
Sorry to read about Charley and hoping for the best. That is too strange about Dave being replaced by Sadie’s husband – gives me the shivers. It is so true that it’s a small world, but that takes the cake. That would be a good meme topic if one could put it into words – stories of strange coincidence. Anyway, I’m glad Dave got his moment of fame LOL. I would love to have seen it. I have not seen the movie yet but am glad to read it lives up to expectations. I did watch the show but not nearly as faithfully as you. Enjoy your weekend!
Poor Charley, hope she gets better soon.. Sweep says he know just how she feels, although he had it as a pup and that was some time ago!
Wow that is spooky with Dave and Sadie’s hubby.. small world hey?
Have a great weekend, weather looks good here, hope it is for you too
Luv n hugs xxx
Hi sweetie !
Anyway … here I am again & I hope it’ll be working this time !
We/they already found a lot of use for them & lots of possibilities ! And the lacing cards … U asked me to make new ones before going to bed ! Poor little one was feverish by the end of the day. I hope he’ll be fine this night & tomorrow.
I hope she’ll get better ASAP & will find appetite.
I had stopped earlier in the evening, but my window froze & I had to close them all.
Thanks for stopping by ! Thanks a lot for the words about the bean bags, I am a bit angry I didn’t find the idea when the boys were younger.
OH MY GOD, that’s amazing about Dave & Bill being interviewed & appearing on TV !!! It’s a very small world indeed !! Wow !
Oh no, I’m so sorry Charley is still not on the mend.
Thinking about you all. Have a good week, my friend. Big hugs OXOXO
