And still it rains, ugh! I’m sitting here with the wind howling around the house and the rain lashing the windows, can this be summer? To try to keep my mind off the weather I’ve been getting all my school prep done so that if summer does come, I’ll be able to lounge in the sun without guilt! To be honest it’s really, really unusual and great that I’m doing this as normally I sleep for the first few days of the hols and by the time I wake up, my head has gone into holiday mode and any thoughts of school are banished. This year I’ve stayed switched on to school which is good. Give me another few days and it’ll all be a distant memory
On Tuesday we found out that if he’s lucky and recovers well, Dave should be out of hospital within 24 hours (fingers crossed!). He won’t be able to work, drive, lift heavy things etc for about two weeks (maybe more depending on how he does). We had conflicting information from the staff nurse and the doctor, so we’ll just wait and see…..
Some photos: the first three are some beautiful Streptocarpus which I was thrilled to find at a garden centre near Althorp. I’ve always loved them and used to have about ten different varieties until they got destroyed by greenfly a few years ago. The fourth photo is of some of the presents my children gave me last week, precious!
PS make sure you’re viewing with my latest theme ‘Summer Living’

I am fed up with weather.. it seems to go on and on.. and when it does appear to dry up. as soon as I step outside it starts again!
I hope as they are now saying that once August starts so will our summer.. them saying the middle of July was wrong..
Well good you getting the school stuff out of the way.

Hi Nikki,
Yes, Patch is a Spring Spaniel, he is six years old. We also have two minature Schnauzers, Duke and Duffy, they are brothers and are fourteen years old. Patch is quite hyper, but lovable as well.
Hope all goes well for Dave and he is able to come home soon.
Love the pics of your plants and flowers, your gifts are adorable as well.
Take care.
~hugs~
Oh dear, meant to say, Patch is a Springer Spaniel. lol
OH, no – more rain. Well, congrats on doing worst things first! I know you’ll be glad later when the sun comes out. I’m loving your summer theme. I’ve never seen one like this – very attractive! Love the flower photos; those aren’t available in the shops around here. And the children’s gifts are so sweet. I’m watching the Oprah Grey’s Anatomy Show. It’s obviously a rerun, but she’s interviewing the whole cast on the actual set.
I had to look up that artist. It’s an Australian named chihhang, and his stuff is at iStockphoto, which I used for the first time ever. Nite nite!
Hi, Nikki! Hope you’re having a good weekend. Are the rains still affecting your area?. They had more reports on our TV today, but not sure exactly where the videos were done. Thanks for looking at the photos! Actually, it’s rather interesting about the hair thing. Jeffrey is a friend of Ashley’s and does her hair at his place or in this case her place for cheap. Yes, he cut mine, too, but I told him to go easy so to speak. He did a really good job of improving what I already had. Oh, he’s an Inuit from Alaska, an Eskimo and quite a personality. Gay, of course! I’m not sure about the painting. There was an exhibit at the Chinese Garden for contemporary artists – all I believe from China. I love that place.
All my very best wishes to Dave, I hope everything goes well for him and that he will be out quickly.
Isn’t the weather dreadful! Even today, started out really sunny with blue skies and here we are, nearly Lunch time and the clouds are there and looks like it is going to rain!
Your flower photos are beautiful! Gorgeous plants!
Have a lovely Sunday, take care
Martine
