Got home a short while ago after spending virtually the whole day at Leicester hospital. The infection that Dave has in his dialysis exit site has got steadily worse and when he rang his nursing team this morning they asked him to go straight over. After waiting ages for a doctor to give the go ahead, he was put on an antibiotic drip. They’re hoping this will kill the bug which has now invaded what they call his tunnel (!) which is where the tube is inserted in his peritioneum. On Friday we have to go over again for another infusion of antibiotics. We’re hoping and praying it works as if it doesn’t they may have to remove the tube which would put him right back to square one. We’ll also get the results of the swab they took which will show what the bug actually is. Bless him, he’s been through so much over the last four months, he really needs some luck now.
Oh poor Dave and you.. sending great big hugs to you both.. I hope something gets sorted with this and soon.
Thank you for the lovely comments on the ducks and I hope you find time to have a look in a wool shop.. your very welcome on the link.. helps to see what your going to end up buying
Hugs Pixie
Oh my goodness Nikki, it is so difficult, I hope it works out fine. It’s such a tough situation. You are both in my thoughts & prayers. Hugs
oh Nikki, that sounds so nasty.
I hope the antibiotics work and he doesn’t have to go back to square one. What a nightmare.
Hope you are still able to rest your voice through all of this. No shouting at doctors or anything, ok?!
