My week has been very busy workwise and we’re all, including the kids, ready for a holiday…and it just so happens that we’ll be having one after the coming week
Maxie Monkey (see pic lower down) arrived today and will be joining me at school after half term to teach the children how to blend the letters (which the little sweeties have worked incredibly hard to learn over the last 5 weeks) together. Hopefully by Christmas at least half of my class will be reading three letter words. I’ve had a series of meetings with all my parents over the last week and am pleased to say that everyone was delighted with their child’s progress in such a short time.
Have to say that I’m rapidly becoming disillusioned with blogging and wondering why I do it! Having spent much of this afternoon playing with WordPress and doing all the bits I love so much ie redecorating (so very therapeutic) I then thought to myself that I ought to do an update. Sadly I have no photos to share, just my usual claptrap about school. So why do I blog? Who do I do it for? I have no answers, so with that I’ll stop writing now and hopefully the next time I blog I’ll have more of interest to say!
yet another comment lost! Hope this one sticks, so you know I stopped by. I left a long comment, but it’s gone….again. so off to bed I go.
xx
Hi Nikki, I don’t know why I blog,
I love the graphics and I like making things work together, although I’m getting less patient with it. I’m glad you blog I like reading your posts even if I don’t always have the time to visit. Have a nice end of the weekend. *hugs*
Hi Nikki I enjoy reading your blog but I know what you mean. In days of yore I used to spend my Sunday mornings cleaning the kitchen from top to bottom while listening the the Archers Omnibus but now I feel obliged to blog even when I haven’t got anything to say and the goings on in Ambridge are a complete mystery to me . To be honest I think my kitchen could do with more Eddie Grundy and less blogging!
I can imagine how exciting it must be to have all your children managing to recognise simple words in such a short space of time. It’s amazing to think what the human brain is capable of! Have a relaxing Sunday lots of love xxx
Hi Nikki, I think we all get those why do we blog moments, days, weeks lol..
I enjoy coming here and reading what you do in school as well as all the other things you share, plus the view is very pretty too
mine must be boring as I don’t get out much and all I do is sit and read.. well according to younger son that is lol
The current book is good, would make an ideal holiday read.. (sorry about the captcha catching you out .. had to try something to deal with the spammers)
Enjoy your Sunday evening
Hugs Pixie
Oh sweetie, we all have these kinds of moments when we wonder why on earth we’re blogging, but you know, we’re all very interested in what your life is made of, even the daily life details. Blogging, according to me, is also a way for others to know how people in another country do things, where they go …

I think you see what I mean. Sometimes, (shame on me) I’m blogging for myself only, like in a paper diary .. (but don’t tell anyone, shhh)
I hope you’re proud of what you accomplish with your pupils, because it’s something to be very proud of, my friend.
Take good care, my friend. I keep thinking about you & enjoy ALWAYS (no matter the length or content) my visits here !
Oh, Nikki. I read the good news about the paired kidney transplants before I moved up to see you’re a bit fed up with blogging. I just took off a month myself but don’t want to give it up now that I’m back. Your site looks so wonderful; it really gave me a lift to land on your page. Forgive my long absence; I won’t make any excuses other than to say I’ve been taking my job too seriously. Of course, it does pay off and all that …. I love reading about your teaching! Big hugs, Julia
hello!
just wanted to let you know, your card arrived today! I love it. I must put it
in a frame. Sorry it took a week to get here (!!!) but at least I got
it in the end
me again! Don’t worry, I will never stop spelling words the Proper way. I will always use the ‘u’!
xx
….and me again! Was over at Sonia’s and saw your question about the cheddar muffins. I thought I’d answer, that yes, they are lovely and moist, and very, very scrummy, and about a billion times better than cheesy scones. Make them.! You’ll love the, and the recipe is so easy to follow. I’ll definitely make them again.
right. really must shove off now, Bill is home and humbug needs her bedtime milk. xxxx
