:o) :o) :o)

Yesterday, being the first day of my six weeks off, was spent in traditional style…spending money! We went to one of my favourite shopping places, Boston in Lincolnshire. It’s not a big town but it has some great shops. Before we went I needed to do two important things though…….one, to pick up my new D&G glasses which I’m very pleased with (at £400 they needed to be ok!!!) and two, to get the new Harry Potter from Asda who were selling it for £5! Here’s a couple of photos of the new specs, is it obvious from the pics how much I hate having my photo taken?? Ugh the hair is such a mess, it needs a cut and a colour!

Anyway, after all that excitement, off we went to Boston which is about 50 miles north of here. They have a wonderful department store called Oldrids who stock a fantastic range of handbags, shoes, clothes and craft materials (amongst many other things). I also discovered they have the full range of Nougat beauty items …… way more than John Lewis have. Plus they have a superb restaurant. I’d be happy to stay there all day :) I managed to find a perfect skirt by Ben Sherman…perfect fit and length. Plus a cute little bag by French Connection. Both had been drastically reduced in the sale :)

It rained constantly throughout the afternoon so the market was somewhat depleted, which was a shame, as that was what attracted us there when we first visited the town about six years ago. But we still had a lovely relaxing time. The first shop we went into on arrival was Next as it was the first day of their sale…managed to get some nice jewellery for half price. Then on the way back to the car, we called in again as I’d missed some of the ladies stuff which was upstairs with the men’s and children’s. Didn’t see anything else I liked BUT decided to take a peek at the baby things and found two fab little dresses for Robyn (both half price and less than a fiver each!).

Today I’ve been very lazy as I wanted to finish the book I’ve been reading for the last few weeks so that I could start HP…which is what I’m off to do in a short while :) Hope everyone’s having a lovely Sunday!

  1. yes, I am in a pink mood today! Humbug and I are dressed head to toe in the colour! I had to change my diary to match :)

well, love, love, love your glasses. I keep telling Bill that I’m sure I need glasses. Not actually true, and he knows it, he also knows that I’m just wanting some Chanel frames in a very similar style to your D&G ones! He knows me too well.

My meez. Well, she was meant to be cooking! It was the closest I could find to cooking up dinner, I didn’t want to use the stir fry option, so chose that one instead. I thought it was hilarious and spookily accurate!

Wow, you are the bargain hunter.Maybe this will shock you with my shopping addiction, but I never shop in sales. I can’t be bothered with it , even with next. Actually, no, I’ll rephrase that. Especially with Next. If you phone up trying to order something you want it’s either out of stock or only in odd sizes. I wanted to show some of the new stuff we’ve ordered but the website was in sale too, and I couldn’t help but notice the amount of size 8 stuff they had. So when will shops learn that we are not all size 8???!!!!
I hate that Next get their staff to work from 5 a.m, and I just cannot be bothered to try and get into the shops. So I stay away and move on to the next season! That said, I do love a good bargain, I just can’t be doing with sale shopping.

Love the kiddies tops you’ve bought. Humbug has that patchwork one on the right, it was one of her bd’s pressies. It looks superb with jeans, I love her in it. I’ll have to get a photo next time she wears it and show you. It’s also easy to get on and off too, an added bonus.

ok.must go. Happy reading! :) xxxx

  2. Hi Nikki Lovely glasses, they really suit you. Well it has been a nostalgic read for me today because my late parents settled in Boston in retirement and I know Oldrids very well :) The dresses you bought for Robyn are adorable. Hope you enjoy Harry Potter, I only read the first three and then I sort of got out of the habit but Holly is enthralled by them. I called in earlier to see if you’d posted but didn’t comment, glad I came back to have another look. Have a lovely week xxxx

  5. Very posh glasses! But so expensive! I just got some new ones, no frame style which I love..it’s my second pair, I never got on with the first pair bought a few years back..I kept seeing the little screws..they were sort of in my line of vision..anyway, these new ones fit much better..I paid just under £200 for them and a pair of sunglasses thrown in. After reading an article in the paper about it I looked up Glasses Direct at http://www.glassesdirect.co.uk/release_000/index.php..it does make you a bit sick to think of the enormous profit most High Street Opticians make, even taking overheads into consideration!
I have always liked Next for Kids, always very cute stuff. And you chose two adorable items!
    Take care Hugs
