Dave has cabin fever, it’s official! But help was at hand yesterday when we walked through town and saw one of his friends, a rather gorgeous mid-30′s Russian, who’s been living here for the last 18 years and is more English than many around here. Luka loves shooting and fishing just like Dave, and dresses up as an English gentleman when he does either. But then, when they stop for a cup of tea, he will pull out vodka and an array of Russian food to tempt fellow hunters! But I digress. Dave told him that he was getting restless and was longing to do a spot of fishing or shooting, so Luka said he may be going fishing over the weekend. Well that’s where they are now! And they may stay the night. I felt compelled to give Luka orders to make sure Dave doesn’t lift anything and to remind him about his tablets. He can’t be trusted and as I’ve been his nurse for the last three weeks 
it felt like I was handing over responsibility! Thank goodness for mobile phones so that I can at least keep a check on him 
Skimming through the papers today I came across something that made me think of my friend Sonia . In fact anything with polka dots always puts me in mind of her Following the trend of mobile phones now coming decorated with a more feminine touch, we now have laptops and pc’s doing the same. Anyway, it’s quite nice having the house to myself again. The tv is on, permanently tuned into Big Brother. I’m mightily grateful the final week coincides with the the final week of my hols (not next week but the week after). It’s been on for three months this year so I’m even more attached to the housemates than usual. I can be on the computer without feeling guilty as well. I have a DVD to watch tonight….Blood Diamond, which comes highly recommended by my son. Then tomorrow I have to make sure that Dave watches The Bourne Supremacy as he swears he hasn’t seen it (although I’m sure he has!). The reason being that we plan to go to the cinema on Monday to see The Bourne Ultimatum which is getting very good reviews. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the first two and anything with Matt Damon in is always worth a look

Not see the Bourne films .. will have to make note to record the one on tomorrow.

People always commiserate with me because D. plays so much golf but I quite like that he’s out of the house for hours at a time, leaving me to get on with things. Perhaps they will bring you back something nice for your tea

I lost my comment! Well, here goes again! I’m so glad to read that Dave is feeling restless – a good sign I’m sure. I love the Bourne series but haven’t seen the new movie. We both read all those books and enjoyed them quite a bit. Can’t say the same for Blood Diamond, but I hope you liked it. You just have to be in the mood for all that reality, I guess. Have you seen The Constant Gardener? More of same but better IMO. I’m feeling better than I have in a month, a very good thing! We’re watching Hurricane Dean just now, so wish us well.
