I really love the Oscars. At one time when they used to show them on tv live, I’d stay up to watch but nowadays even if they still showed them I wouldn’t be able to last the night. I love the whole occasion, spotting the stars, oooohing and ahhhing over the outfits (or the opposite in some cases!). Best of all though, I love it when I’ve seen many of the films already and am backing one of them to win. This time round I’ve hardly seen any of them, only Atonement and American Gangster both of which are excellent but as different as different can be. I’ll be hopingto see Atonement pick up a few more awards than it did at the BAFTA’s although I have my doubts that it will win the main gong. Please note that my Meez is dressed up for the occasion, he he!!
Yesterday we had coffee with mum and then did a little shopping. I needed some bits and pieces for all the cards I have to get done over the next few weeks. Here’s some of the things I got for Mother’s Day cards, the children will have the choice of doing either a fairy card or a flower card:
I also bought myself two new tops for work, both by John Rocha. It’s always too hot at work no matter what the weather is like outside so I needed some thin short(ish) sleeved tops.

I’m glad your Meez is still dressed for the Oscars, I didn’t get round to visiting yesterday and dearly wanted to see her. She looks superb!
I love your new tops, especially the second one. I would like something like that, ought to drag myself out to the shops soon, get some light weight tops.
hate clothes shopping, I have to admit. I always feel like a sack of spuds in changing rooms. I’m far happier shopping for shoes and bags and sparkly stuff! Reason I love Meez so much is Sadie Meez always looks fab and in great shape – unlike me!
the cards will be fabulous, the mums will all be so pleased with the!
got to go, humbug has gone quiet downstairs….nightmare!!! xxx
Oh I love your Meez
.. she looks very glitz and glam
Love your tops and the bits you bought for card making.. they are lucky mums to get those cards on Sunday
Luv n hugs Pixie
Hi Nikki Just thought I’d pop by and say hi. I think we’ve seen the same films lately and agree that Atonement and American Gangster are both brilliant. We saw a preview of “The Bank Job” on Monday which was was set in the 70′s, based on a true story and a cracking one at that. Very violent (far more so than AG) but I think if it’s a good story I don’t find that bothers me as much as I would have thought. There were some good performances and so many faces I recognised but wasn’t totally sure who they were until I checked out IMDB when I got home. Love the tops – you have the same problem as me, it’s always hot at work. Hope you weren’t affected by the earthquake. There was someone in Brighton on the local news this afternoon relating their experiences but I don’t believe it, I haven’t heard of anyone else nearby that felt it and no-one even talked about it at work! Hope all is well lots of love xxxx
