Oscar night!

Just wish I was able to watch it live but it starts at about 1a.m. our time I think. So when I turn on the tv first thing in the morning it will be just finishing and all the results will be in. I don’t have any particular hopes for the awards apart from best actress, and as three of the nominees are British, it would be great if one of them gets the prize….preferably Helen Mirren who I love. (I love Judi Dench and Kate Winslet too but the former already has one and the latter is bound to get one sooner or later). As far as the films go, I’ve only seen The Departed which was excellent……but then to be nominated for an Oscar they must all be a shade of excellence! However, there is one very good reason why I would like to see The Departed get the award..and also it’s director. Can there ever have been a film director more worthy of an Oscar and yet never to have received one in Martin Scorsese? A brief look at his filmography reveals an incredible list of wonderful films.
Of course another, and nowadays many people might say more important reason to watch the Oscars, is to view the amazing array of dresses worn by so many beautiful stars. It certainly is a jaw dropping event! What will Nicole/Kate/Gwyneth/Halle/Cate/Penelope wear this time round and who will look the most stunning? My money is on either Helen Mirren or Kate Winslet (not that I’m biased or anything!). Kate Winslet Helen Mirren

    :) I wish they showed the Oscars here. They used to didn’t they? I rememeber when Kate W was up for an Oscar for Titanic I wanted to wait up and see it. I feel asleep, but told myself to wake up in time to see Kate. Spooky thing, I woke up, switched on the telly and it was just in time to see them announce the winner. It wasn’t Kate, but I was still pleased to have woken up for it. She seems to have a love of that style of dress. I thought she looked pretty in her Valentino dress, but it wasn’t my favourite. Helen M looked fab!

    must go. It’s early on Tuesday and I need to get ready. have a good day xx

    Hello sweetie, and first of all, sorry for this late reply. Thank you so much for sending the link to the artist, because indeed I had missed this entry of yours. I haven’t had the time to visit but the homepage looks fabulous & the colors are soooo inspiring !
    And, oh… your hair color is splendid, spring is around the corner & we all want to look as fresh as spring !!! I love it !
    Thank you SO much for getting the Echinacea set & for using it here, it looks so … flowery, I really really love it !!
    It’s a wonderfully sunshiny day today so I better go & have some clothes washed !!
