perfect day

Easily pleased me. But today has been such a good day particularly in terms of school and the kids. We’ve had one compliment after another from other members of staff about how well behaved we are :) . And it’s true they are a wonderful, calm little group…most of the time. So long as there’s not a full moon! Nine more weeks in my class and then they’ll be someone else’s. But I’m truly proud of what we’ve achieved this year after two very difficult classes it’s been a real boost.

Early finish from staff meeting meant I was home by 4pm today and ten minutes later my beloved son was letting himself in…..he’s spoiling me with his company at the moment. What a lovely and secure feeling it is when I have both he and Dave here :)

Watched King Kong yesterday and was rather disappointed in it. I felt it was way too long and too much time wasted on dinosaurs and mutant insects. Not enough time spent on the touching but doomed relationship between the beauty and the beast. But I suppose that’s a purely female view as I’ve just had this discussion with my son who agrees that it was too long, but too long on the bits that I enjoyed most!
Must mention how absolutely delighted I am with this new template. I love it and using widgets is sooooo easy. HUGE thanks to Julia for all her help and encouragement :)

That’s your best look yet. I love it! It is so Summery!
I hate to sound ignorant but what are “widgets”? We went to see King Kong at the cinema, we don’t go to the cinema often only to see special films. I found it too long but like your son I did enjoy the special effects and all the dinosaurs and insects etc… I felt that was really well-done!
Well done with the good results with your class, it’s the best bit about teaching, seeing where/ how far we have taken a group.
    Have a great week.

So good everything is going so well for you. I’m sure you deserve to bask in the glow of those compliments! Oh, and thanks for your gracious comment. I’m so excited you are having fun discovering Fauna. It’s full of nice surprises.

I have not seen KK because my son said it was just long, really long. I honestly was not that much into the 1976? one with Jessica Lange, either. Maybe if they had gone for the beauty and the beast more, as you say.

Your site is looking even better. I come every day to look see. You inspired me to give Now Reading another go. My main prob with it is the link to Amazon. (We have another store here named Powells that I prefer, partly because it’s independent, brick and mortar, and in my daughter’s home of Portland.) But Now Reading is so easy and looks good. You and I both have the same prob with the book link – will work on my end when time allows and you can, too.

I think I will attempt weather again when I get a chance – may call for help on that. Yours looks really good, and it’s just nice to anchor someone to their home that way.

Nite, nite, I’m just back from graduation and need to get into my jammies.

    Hello sweetie !
I am very happy & proud of you for the work you managed to accomplish with your pupils ! I am more than sure that you are a wonderful & caring teacher to them ! They’re lucky to have you !
Awww, Dave + Tom … what a wonderful moment you must have spent ! I prefer not thinking about not having my boys at home with me anymore … it’s too early for my fragile heart ! booooohooo … Anyway -
It’s been ages since I last went to the cinema, and after all, I am currently enjoying 40′s & 50′s movies & musicals more than recent movies. They really transport me in another world, in another time I didn’t know.
OK, gotta go now, my MIL is here & we’ll go pick Paul at school in an hour from now.
Have a great evening, when you’ll be home to read this !!
Lots of hugs, sweetie !! Take good care !! OXOXOXO

    Hi Nikki,
It’s, once again, beautiful and soothing here! I always want to “walk into” the pictures you have here !
I didn’t see King Kong…. I can’t “do” animal movies like that! I’m too mushy, and they make me too sad!!! ( What a sap, I know!) I watched Old Yeller when I was little, and I cried for weeks!!!
Please send some of your rain our way, as we are in a terrible drought, still, and my poor little pond is drying up! I’ll trade you for some Florida sunshine, which we have way too much of at the moment!
Take good care of yourself, and congratulations on your sweet class of kids! They must realize what an excellent teacher they have!
