….spent last week getting everything sorted out and ready for the party, spent this week getting over it! Happy to say that a grand time was had by all and that it was worth every minute. The celebrations began on Friday night when Dave’s daughter, her husband and their two children arrived after a long trip up from Dorset. We hadn’t seen them since Christmas and they were full of tales of their holiday in Cancun, Mexico which they’d only just returned from. Baby Robyn has grown and changed so much which was hardly surprising as 9 months is a long time when they’re so young. Tyler had also grown up a lot as well….he had his 6th birthday while they were staying with us ![]()
Saturday, Dave’s eldest son and his girlfriend arrived and then my gorgeous Tom arrived with his girlfriend too. We spent the day dashing around doing last minute things before the guests arrived from 6pm onwards. The brewery proved to be a fabulous setting and the weather was extremely accommodating allowing people to sit outside for much of the evening. So we had a dancing area, a bar area for people to socialise and a smoking area outside. Dave’s sister, Chris, worked like a Trojan and produced a magnificent buffet with a stunning cupcake centrepiece:
Mum provided the beautiful wedding cake which had fresh plum coloured orchids draped around it:

We really couldn’t have asked for a better day/weekend/party! Sunday saw us clearing up with help from most of the family and then in the afternoon we had to say goodbye to them as they set off on their journeys back home. All over with far too quickly! We could have done with another day off on Monday to get over it all but it was back to work and so far this week we’ve fallen asleep on the sofa every night!

Hello Nikki, how special to have both your families at home to celebrate with you. The wedding cake & cupcakes are so pretty. I hope you have some time to relax, have a great weekend, hugs
What fun! The cakes and cupcakes are beautiful, too. I actually went into that cupcake shoppe in Little Rock last weekend, and yours are much more appealing than theirs. Wow! I love what you’ve done with your site. Is this a custom design? Just nosy; not about to change or anything. Thanks for the sweet note. Hugs, Julia
