retail therapy

Nothing quite like it! The weather’s been foul today, non stop rain yet mild and it made me realise that I’m lacking in the lightweight jacket department so what better excuse? Off to Debenhams which really has become my absolute favourite reasonably local place to shop. It didn’t take me long to find the perfect item.

John Richmond biker jacket

It’s called a biker jacket although it’s not leather! A kind of lightweight canvas type material, very me as I don’t do jackets with lapels and never have. It can also be viewed here.
We also had our weekly fix at Cafe Nero’s where I had a huge latte and a yummy, squidgy white chocolate and raspberry muffin. I have to admit I’m very new to muffins but after regularly reading a couple of friends blogs where they often mention their liking for them, I thought I’d find out what all the fuss was about! And of course now I’m hooked! A question though….how does one eat a muffin? The only way I’ve managed so far is to break small pieces off. I feel this is a most important question and would appreciate advice!

Oooooh retail therapy … mmmm sounds nice ! :) Your jacket is gorgeous & must fit you like a glove !
OK, so how to eat a muffin … (do you know you’re talking to a muffin specialist ? LOL)
    1) bite a bit of the top … mmm
    2) try to get something of the heart of the muffin … mmm
    3) do whatever you like because there is no special way to eat a muffin !! LOL
PS : for breakfast, this morning, we ate apple-chocolate muffins I had made & frozen some weeks ago. They were heaven, even re-heated ! Bliss ! Muffins are bliss ! Well, mine, at least !! (a modest muffin queen, that’s what I am, I tell ya !!) LOL
OK, gotta go. Spending the evening all alone is no fun, but I’ll survive. Thanks so much for the sweet tag at my blog.
I’m so sorry Dave is still facing these hernia pains. Please keep telling him I keep him in my thoughts & wish him a prompt recovery.
Sending you both big hugs, wishing you a wonderful week ahead !! OXOXOXOX

Way to go on your jacket, it’s very nice & I like black :) Muffins are so easy to eat, they shouldn’d really break apart normally, maybe it’s the British climate that does that to them LOL It’s usually huge & not easy to eat unless you use a fork & knife or even a spoon. I hope your week is starting well, hugs

:) nice jacket. I remember when Gucci did leather biker jackets. I rushed out and bought a similar one in pvc, only it was so hot to wear I never wore it!

Muffins. hmmm. Well, the only way I know how to scoff them is to ram them into one’s cakehole as quickly as possible! No, not really sure what the correct etiquette is, I’d never use a fork as it’s not that kind of cake for it. And I agree, they always crumble and fall apart. Have you tried the Blueberry ones from Tesco? they are fab. I’ve got a recipe that I use that makes the muffins almost exactly like them. My all time fave was the cranberry and orange one I had in Starbucks before Christmas. The best I’ve ever had. I made some raspberry ones the other week, they turned out well, though I didn’t get to eat more than one as Dudley found them and decided to eat the tops of them ‘just because’. He’s a very odd cat at times! M&S make nice ones too, a pumpkin seed one I had at the start of the year. It was lovely, and even though it was M&S, it still crumbled, so I’d love to know the secret of how they don’t crumble elsewhere, can it really be our climate that affects them?! ;)

I normally tear my muffin in half if I’m in Starbucks. At home I do what I said at the start of this comment!

hope you are feeling better today. Our weather is still a bit up and down. Don’t mind at all though, I love our weather! have a great day xxx

:) hello Nikki. Beautiful day today (and I don’t like sunny days!) been sitting out in the garden with humbug.

I linked up to the muffin recipe that I always use when I want to make them. Why not print it out and give it a go when you get the chance? :)

    have a lovely day xx

Your jacket looks great! I like Debenhams too but we are luck we have Beatties where we live and I like it best!
As to muffins, I am like Sadie! No forks nor spoons, and I scoff them and pick up all the bits that fall off! I like chocolate ones best!
I want to change the look of my blog, such a beautiful day here, very bright.. it makes you feel like winter is behind us! So I had a look here because your blog has so many links!
    Have a great weekend, Nikki.
