Well I’m into my second day off and feeling very good! The clouds have been hiding the sun most of the day so I’m taking this opportunity to get up to date with my blog and to make some long overdue visits
. The minute the sun shows it’s face, though, I’ll be out there again!
So, the last day of term came and went. It was a day of mixed emotions. Sheer pleasure and delight to receive the children’s gifts and cards and to see their proud little faces, bless em! (The ‘showing off’ title refers to the pics I’m about to show of some of my amazing presents). The cards always mean a great deal to me as they invariably have lovely messages from the children and the parents. Being the children’s first teacher means a lot to them which is so rewarding.
We had a party in the afternoon and I’d bought a bubble maker which makes the most enormous bubbles so the children had great fun chasing them around outside and seeing who could be first to pop them. 3pm soon came and as each child came up to give me a huge hug before they left, the tears soon started to prick behind my eyes but I held out until the very last child…….
Previous to our last day, on Saturday we went to Coventry to lay Dave’s mum’s ashes to rest, alongside his dad’s, which had been interred in a plot 30 years ago. It’s taken over a year to arrange so Dave and his sister and brother were very moved and relieved when the service was over. Then on Saturday we took Tom out for a meal at a favourite Italian restaurant called Prezzo near where he lives. This was four weeks overdue as it was Tom’s birthday treat! Here’s a photo of my gorgeous boy!
Last night as a kind of wind up to the school year, ten of us from work went to see Mamma Mia. Oh wow, what a wonderful film! Totally and utterly escapist, far fetched, feel good fun! Every seat in the cinema was taken, mostly by women and you don’t have to be an Abba fan to enjoy it. I’m still singing the songs today (indeed practically the whole cinema was singing along last night too!). Julie Walters is a masterpiece of casting and Meryl Streep is amazing! Do see it if you get a chance but make sure you go with girlfriends, mums, daughters etc ![]()

I am going to start when you ended and totally with you on Mamma Mia, we went last week, enjoyed it enough to go again last night! we have 3 cinemas in Exeter and each was fully booked for both evening shows and the same again last night.. we booked a head this time round… the casting was brilliant and we laughed till we cried! oh my lol..
I love all your cards and gifts, what fun with the bubbles.. we have it warm here today, but sun is playing hide and seek with the clouds.
Enjoy the rest of your day
Luv n hugs Pixie xxx

……
hurrah, a post at last!
well, don’t blame you at all for showing off, and I have no doubt that the pressies were well deserved.
I doubt if you’ll be reading this then, as it’s been horribly sunny all afternoon, and you’ll be out getting all golden brown. Humbug and I were out for an hour again, her sat in her paddling pool, Dudley lurking under a tree! Glad to come back in though, too hot for my liking. Looked on weather sites for next week and see we have a couple of rainy nights ahead, and possibly a rainy day or two too. Yey! So I can cope with this little heatwave. But come September 1st, I want falling leaves and drizzle please!
Tom does not look pleased to have a camera shoved at his chops!
thanks for your email. ooh, I take it back. You aren’t outside, it says both you and I are online. Unless of course, you’ve just left your page open in your haste to leg it with the ambre solaire!
xxxxxxx
Hi Nikki, what a lovely aray of presents and cards you received, all well deserved I’m sure. The children do love those bubbles, come to think of it so do I. Enjoy your time off. *hugs*

…
I couldn’t leave a comment on your wall thingy, as it said I had to be
logged in. How do I do that? I have a wp account (don’t use it, obviously!)
is that what it means?
How hot is it today? bleugh. Have just been out to put water in humbugs
pool because I know by the time we go back out, the sun will have made
it really warm. Normally I mix hot water with water from the hose, so it’s
not too icy cold for her. And I add bubbles!
I want Bex to go tonight. Mo irritates me with his non stop chomping on
absolutely any food at all, Darnell I like, though I am fed up of his faux
accent. He says things that are so British. He called someone
‘mate’ the other day, and said ‘takeaway’ which are totally British so
why he insists on talking like Huggy Bear I know not.
I want Bex to go because I’m fed up of seeing her melons wobbling about,
I’m fed up of her stupid childishness, and when she talks quickly who
on earth can understand the girl? I also think – and can’t understand why
no one else has picked up on this – that she has shown that she was being
Jen’s little sheeplet before, since Jen has gone, not once has she bleated
on about how she’s just ‘being herself’ and not ‘afraid to air my
opinions’ blah blah blah, everything that fell out of Jen’s gob, fell out
of Bex’s massive piehole a little later. Not anymore. So when she’s going
on about Rachel ‘not being herself’, she could easily say the same
about herself. she only snogs Luke when up for eviction or drunk, which
proves it’s not real. I want to see Luke on his own, see who he oils up
to next. HOpefully everyone will think the same and tell him to bog off.
For someone not concerned about the money, he doesn’t half go on
about it alot! And, his obsession for people playing ‘the biggest game’.
IT’S A GAME!!! Of course people are playing games. Duh!! !
Hope this comment reads ok. I had your ‘vogue’ theme set before, because the
layout of the one you’d changed to didn’t work well on my
computer. I’ve changed it over so I could see the wall, but it
cuts off the right hand side -> of the comment box when I go in to
make alterations. Which I have to do, to make sure my comment
will stick!
Right. going to do some drawing now. have a lovely day, make sure
you’ve got some sunscreen on, it’s nastily hot out there. Be a few
red backs and shoulders tonight, I’ll bet!

nope.still can’t graffiti on your wall
oh well!
thanks for the link to that forum. I totally and utterly
agree with the main writer there. I don’t understand why they
all hate Rachel, just because she won’t sit around and bitch and
and argue like the rest of them. They are being as bad as that Alex
thing for bullying, and I don’t like it. What Rex was going on about
I have no idea. He thinks he’s so clever, but he’s as thick as a box
of toffee. No such word as ‘absorbtion’(/asorption as I found out it’s
also written)??!! What a loser. He of all
people should know and understand the world, as he is totally
absorbed in himself. All this ‘I’m here to get to know myself’
crud, and ‘I don’t like my own company’. Well, if he doesn’t like his
own company, why the heck should anyone else like his company. Clearly,
he wouldn’t do well on Countdown!!
I don’t mind Rachel either way, I don’t think she’s fake, because she’d
be pretty amazing to be able to pretend to be so nice for so long.
I wonder why they can’t believe there are nice people in the world? The
only thing that annoyed me last night was when Kat and Lisa said that
Rex didn’t intend to upset her (total lie, he did, and he did it to
make himself look good to The Gruesome Twosome), she immediately said
‘oh no, I know that’. Well good god. She had every right to say ‘oh he
did, and he’s a total a**e’, but she couldn’t even stick up for herself
when she had every right to do so. I was irritated watching that. He
was mean, he wanted to upset her, and that’s what he did. She just needs
a bit of gumption, I think she just lacks confidence in herself. I’d wet
my pants if she went on to win now.
sun has gone in here. Thick with that hazy white cloud now, which is
nice. There is a breeze too. I would love a corking storm tomorrow night.
my SIL (previously liked, not the case at the moment) is holding a
BBQ for her friends and MIL’s house. They’re all staying over in sleeping
bags (what a wheeze!!!!!!!) and she wanted all of us to go en masse. I
said no, the BBQ is at the time that little one will be in bed, so
I am not going to bring over everything I need, just to try and settle
her in an alien bedroom, whilst listening to the druken drivel out in
the garden. SIL has started bullying tactics recently to try and get
her own way with EVERYTHING, and she’s getting right on my chimes.
Bill is going to pop along in the p.m for a short while, and even though
I spoke with MIL and said that he would not be staying overnight,
SIL still continues with texts to try and make him change his mind.
We are heading towards some serious exchanges of words. I am not
prepared to be bullied by her, or anyone else, and she can leave my
hubby alone too. Therefore, I hope the heavens open, because being the
bossy boots that she is, it’s the one thing should isn’t able to
bully or control! ha ha ha. xxxxx
he had a girlfriend, she dumped him last week after seeing his
shenanigans with Bex. I’m glad she went. What was she
dressed as? A witch???!!! xxx
mind you. I do agree that the house is going to be very quiet, with
her mouth going on non stop. That Maysoon person is very dull.
How come they can pick on Rachel for being ‘boring’ when
Maysoon is even worse. Could it be simply because
she’s pretty, perchance?
have a fab day. It was so hot here earlier, but thankfully it’s
cooling down a bit. xxx
did I say it was cooling down? ha! don’t think so. I know that everyone living in a hot climate thinks we are just idiots who whine
at the first sign of sunshine, but if they had to live in houses without
air con, they might just have a bit more sympathy!!! It’s so muggy.
I hope we get the storms that I’ve seen predicted, just to clear the
air. Am hopeful, the sky is pretty grey now.
You will definitely find something in Monsoon or Coast. One of my
favourite dresses in my wardrobe is from Coast. Fab brown
prom dress, with pink and turquise flowers embroidered on
it. I think it’s beautiful. I wore it for a wedding with some
fabulous greeny/blue high heels, and my fake Dior bag. Massive
Indian style earrings hung from my ears (girl getting married
was Indian, so it was in homage to her culture). I am so pleased I
had a girl, so she can inherit some of my corking pieces. I don’t
have a ton of clothes really (honestly, I am shopaholic, but one who
doesn’t particularly care for clothes, just bags, hats, coats and shoes.)
but she will love the clothes that I do have. And the fake furs.
Just been watching Gok (totally love him), and saw some utterly divine
Chanel style shoes. Must visit the site to see where they came from.
Ok, getting fed up with how this comment box jiggers about as I type. Am going to have
to switch themes again, as it doesn’t happen on
the other theme I had set up for you. Still can’t use your Wall, so it doesn’t
make much difference to me!

Hi Nikki, you must be so excited about your wedding. I’m sorry your weather is so hot, I hope it will change soon. I guess time is flying right now with your vacation. Have a great week, hugs
