May has arrived today with beautiful sunny skies and a lovely warm breeze. Everything is flowering very early…maybe about a month ahead. The downside of this is, of course, that come the middle of summer everything will have bloomed and died off. I love the fact that the children can play outside now in our outdoor area at school. We have a huge sunken sandpit, chalkboards, climbing frames, bikes, water trays, a huge caterpillar to crawl through and all manner of other delights. A new addition is a huge canopy to protect them from the sun…and the rain. Today I, and the other Reception teacher, set to on planning our school trip in July. As we did last year, we’re taking them to a lovely farm park where they’ll be able to feed lambs, visit deer and hold lots of small animals. Great fun!
This weekend is a long weekend, I’m happy to say, as Monday is May Day bank holiday. I haven’t said this to Dave yet but I think if the weather isn’t great then we must decorate the bathroom which is in desperate need! Luckily most of it is tiles so there won’t be too much to do. At the moment it’s a beautiful old Sanderson wallpaper so I think it will need papering again.
I’ll probably only need a couple of rolls. As Dave loses his patience with wallpapering, it will fall to me to do that part, which I don’t mind at all so long as he does all the painting! (He just came in and spotted what I’m writing and I’m relieved to say that he’s more than happy to tackle it as well
)

Good evening, sweetie !
Thanks so much for the tag ! I’m so happy May started on a summery note ! Over here, it was totally spring today ! Grey, light rain, and now a good shower ! We need water, so I won’t complain !
I wish you good luck for the bathroom redecoration & have to say that the wallpaper is simply gorgeous ! I have a duvet cover from Sanderson, such a fantastic quality ! Makes me remind to look at the last products !
Have a great Wednesday my friend. Take good care & enjoy your start to May !
OXOXOXOX
Oh, I love the wallpaper. So typically English to me. I hope your decorating plans work out well. I had forgotten to turn my calendar until I read your post. It’s my favorite so far as well. She has a most enchanting style, doesn’t she? It’s rather inspiring! I know your students will love seeing the animals; I know I would. I’m looking forward to taking Alexander to the local zoos. That was a big thing when our kids were small, and I miss it. Our school ends for summer break the last week in May, but after next week I’ll only have one full class left. (whispering) Have a lovely almost weekend. Hugs, Julia
ooh, I haven’t been here for a few days! Yikes. And now I have to be quick, because little girl is about to wake up and want her lunch!
yes, May has started off well if you like blue skies!
I was saying to humbug this morning how cloudless and blue the sky was.
I think rain is due some time next week. Hope so, I miss the rain!
must go. have a great week. oh, and I phoned CK yesterday, the gazebo is ‘in progress’!!!!! xxx
Hi Nikki It must be such a relief that the children can expend their energy running about outside during break – the warm weather is brilliant in all sorts of ways – I feel so fortunate that I’m at home all day to enjoy it at the moment. Ah yes decorating, I’m completely inept and D has to maintain his golf handicap so we favour the shabby chic look, with the emphasis on shabby
Hope it all goes well and you get it finished. Lots of love xxx
We had a beautiful start to May too…thank goodness the thunderstorm stayed away until after bedtime.
Enjoy your day! Lotsa hugs!
