still blogging….

…..third consecutive day since returning to work, pretty good going I reckon :) I’ve had another very good day, with the children still trying hard and being a pleasure to teach. The key now is to keep them like this……for 14 more weeks! So I’m praising them to the hilt and dishing out stickers like they’re going out of fashion. For anyone who doesn’t know what I mean by that – as rewards for good behaviour/work we have stickers which say things like ‘fab work’, ‘I’m polite’, ‘great speller’ etc etc. At this age there’s no better reward! (After about the age of 7, the novelty has worn off and they’re much harder to please).

In the summer months instead of one of the weekly PE lessons we do country dancing which is always a hoot! I introduced my little lot to it today and what fun we had  . Most of the girls got the idea quite quickly, but some of the boys hadn’t a clue! Problem being that to do country dancing properly, there’s no room for a loss in concentration. Well, some of my boys have the concentration span of a gnat! So they had a bit of a shock this morning….I made sure that all those boys had a girl partner who would nag them to bits…..it worked beautifully :) !

Our school grounds are full of trees which are currently blooming with blossom and I couldn’t resist taking a photo of my favourite one. I’ve never been sure what type of tree this is but in my opinion it’s the best type of blossom…….very dense and such beautiful colours.

beeeeautiful!

Oh, this is pleasant news – a good run at school! I don’t know about the stickers, though. My seniors love things like that. They put them on their forehead or wherever and just seem so proud of themselves. Some things never change! I stopped by to tell you I’ve nominated you for a Thinking Blogger Award. You need to read my April 18 post for details and a link to the award rules. It’s really a meme where you tag five other blogs. Big hugs, Julia
