And so as one season closes, another opens. No obvious change except that the mornings and evenings are starting to feel cooler and the nights are certainly drawing in very quickly now.
So here I am in an Autumnal mood with suitably decorated blog which I’ve been working on this afternoon. New graphics in the sidebar, new quotes. I’ve kept the same template as I really love this one and will probably stick with this for some time to come. Today, apart from twiddling, I had coffee with my mum, lunch with my friend Jane and not a lot else. No shopping trips for us today as we’re both rather skint ….. and looking forward to payday next week! Here’s a photo of a bracelet I bought a few weeks ago in Cambridge when I did have some money
It’s been a huge hit with the kids! And also, a photo of the real thing this time…the contents of a parcel I received from one of my blogging friends today. Four bars of gorgeous scrumptious organic Montezuma chocolate which included the unusual but divine combination of strawberry and sweet paprika ….. thank you Jackie
We’re starting to get excited about our upcoming holiday(four weeks away). The prospect of a week in Dorset, staying in a delightful cottage is very inviting indeed! Today is Dave’s grandson’s 5th birthday and we can’t wait to see him along with his baby sister
The only downside of the holiday is that we won’t be taking the dogs as the cottage we’re staying in has no garden and after much thought we decided that it just wasn’t practical to take them. Leaving them in kennels has always been a heartbreaker! If only we could explain to them that we’re not abandoning them and that we’ll soon be back again!
While we’re away I’ll be doing a lot of shopping for Christmas presents. I did it last year too and the beauty of it was, I was able to find all sorts of unusual things that I wouldn’t have been able to find here. Much as I love Christmas Day and the cosiness of it all, I loathe all the preparation, which starts early November in our school. And I have long grown tired of finding presents for everyone (except for the people who share the same taste as me!). Year after year I’ve put acres of thought into each present that I buy, but I’ve decided this year to cut down the long list of recipients, I’ve had enough!

Hi Nikki Your upcoming holiday sounds delightful (Although am slightly in awe of your time travel capabilities) Yes it’s a difficult decision to put your dogs into kennels (one I haven’t taken because I know I would be as torn as you) but if there’s no garden it would be a bit tricky. It will be wonderful to see the grandbabies though. I love your bracelet, I can see why it is popular with your class
I always finds Christmas catches me unawares and much as I would like to be some sort of organised and serene Jocelyn Dimbleby type character it never actually pans out that way
So glad you are enjoying the choccie, Monty’s is simply my favourite place to shop in the world
Have a fab weekend xxxx
I love this theme, the colours are gorgeous.. nice and cosy feeling
Love the bracelet and the choc looks scrummy.
Not long till your holiday, shame about the dogs and have fun with the little ones.. I hope the weather will be kind to you.
I don’t enjoy all the flaffing around with Christmas.. the shops the wrapping the whole thing really..
So the last few years now the boys are older, we keep it as simple as possible..
Have a great Sunday
Luv n hugs Pixie xxx
I love this set, I bought it too, and have used it on my main site. Gorgeous colours and graphics
I love your bracelet! So sweet. ha! did you see what I did there?!
hoping that with the autumn season, the telly will pick up a bit again. There is nothing that I watch these days, just the usual soaps. Which reminds, who on earth was that who lured Ian into the derelict flat? I have absolutely no idea who that’s meant to be!!! Have we seen him before? I have to admit, that the sound was turned right down, because gorgeous girl was asleep, so I could hardly hear a thing, so if Ian said his name, I didn’t catch it.
Lucky you with the choccy, it’s scrummy stuff.
well, hope you are having a good day. I’m in the midst of making roast chicken, and have just popped my cherry lattice tart (homemade, just call me Nigella) in the fridge.
lots of love xxxx
Hi Nicki, Your upcoming holiday sounds great, I understand about the leaving the dogs, it’s really tough to do. I don’t enjoy the shopping around Christmas and no longer do any gift buying. I love the bracelet, looks good enough to eat! Have a nice week. *hugs*
hello!
yes, the bag is leather and it’s really well made. I love it! Perfect for the autumn too.
hope you have a great day. humbug and I went out for a walk first thing in the rain, she came back home cosy warm and asleep in her pram, I came back soaked to the skin! brilliant fun!

hello again, it’s me, your resident stalker!
Well, to answer your Q, I like both! I love getting soaked in the rain, it reminds me of when I was little and getting soaked was just a blooming good laugh! It makes me feel carefree. Knowing that I am going to go home and get changed, make a cup of tea and soon be snug and toasty just adds to that!
I’m also trying to encourage humbug to enjoy the weather. She’s a summer baby, so I know she’ll love summer and sunshine, but I’d like her to love all sorts of weather too.
My younger brother and I used to wait for a grey day during summer holidays, go outside to play, then as soon as a few raindrops hit,we’d try and build a little den/shed down the bottom of the garden. It was always totally crappy and we’d get soaked, but it was such good fun.
the weather was a bit scary yesterday. I saw on the news about all the tornedoes! It just turned really breezy and heavy rain here, at exactly the time I set off for my Mums.
I was chuffed with myself today. I had some washing out for a couple of hours, then as I was doing some ironing decided to take it in and iron it then hang it up indoors to finish off. I think about 2 hours later it poured and poured. I was chortling to myself, because normally I am that person who thinks ‘it won’t rain’, then has to bomb up like a rocket as it starts to p*ss down! I was feeling v.smug to think for once I had beaten the rain!
Been getting on nicely with the little weather piccies for humbugs calendar. Have finished the sunny one and just completed the windy one. Windy is my fave, it’s a little pink and red kite. I love it!
ok, I’ve written a novel, so I am off. Have a pleasant eve!

hello! I thought I’d stop by and leave a note. Loving this nutty weather, aren’t you?!

Hello! I had to come back and tell you that I decided my Meez needed to go shopping. I’ve bought her two new bags, some shoes, a lovely coat and some jewellery! I have had so much fun buying her things. She’s currently showing off with her new Hermès bag!
lucky thing. Yes, Sadie Meez is VERY happy, and so she should be! For just $5, you can have a great spending spree.
I really am so tragic!!!
