…yesterday and this morning that is! It’s now pouring with rain here and that seems to be the order of the day for the week ahead. It was practically summer like yesterday with temperatures reaching the 70′s I believe. Unfortunately I was tucked away doing a myriad of jobs which continued in to today. I now have one more task to do (the most difficult one!) and am putting it off, as I usually do, when I have something I’m not keen on doing.
Thursday evening I was coming back from a meeting I’d been to and it was very stormy one minute, sunshine the next. I love this photo I got from the car which very clearly shows the Fen landscape where I live……very, very flat, but perfect for sunsets and and rainbows
Yesterday I had a little break from my duties and we had a quick trip over to our nearest shopping centre. I’ve been after a new bread bin ever since I started baking my own bread (the bread was turning out too big for the current bin!) . I knew what I wanted but had been unable to find it anywhere locally……trust John Lewis to come up with the goods! It’s a lovely old fashioned enamel bin which matches some of my other kitchen equipment really well
here it is in it’s new home on our pine butchers block in the kitchen.
Couldn’t resist popping in to one of my favourite shops, Next. I’d seen a totally gorgeous little coat on one of my pupil’s baby sister and hoped to get one for our baby granddaughter. Sadly they didn’t have it but I couldn’t come out empty handed, so I just had to buy these for her!
Off now to do that job I’ve been putting off, more on that later

hello! sorry for not visiting yesterday, I meant to, but ended up pre writing my diary for Tuesday (I know. Tragic!) and by the time I’d finished I just wanted to get in the bath and rest.
we also did a load of gardening, so I was worn out from that too.
love the clobber you’ve bought for the little one! You just can’t beat Next. I think 90% of humbugs stuff is from next. The jeans that I patched up for her were Next, and we’ve got the next size up for her already, because they are THAT nice.
Fabulous rainbow picture.

Love your bread bin too. I don’t have a bread bin, lack of space prevents me. And, I always forget about the bread in them and it goes mouldy!
Hope you have a lovely start to the day, and that you have done all you need to do.
lots of love to you xxxx
Gorgeous rainbow photo and I am loving the bread bin and omgosh at the clothes how adorable.. got me intrigued on the job you have been putting off.. is it done yet?
We have odd spells of sunshine then heavy downpours.. hail yesterday.. ouch that came down thick and fast..
Have a great week
Hugs Pixie xxx
Hi Nikki, your rainbow photo is incredible, I love it. How nice to finally find the bread box you were looking for. I love baby clothes, they are so cute. I hope you’re having a great week, hugs
Hello Nikki! Meant to get round on the weekend but G was ill and I’m a tax season widow until tomorrow
Love the rainbow piccie~ so gorgeous! And the baby clothes are amazing! That’s one thing I’m looking forward to with having a girl is finding really lovely clothes…boys are not much fun to dress.
It was most interesting as there are so many tales as to how to tell and so far…I’ve been the complete reverse!
Hugs! xo
I love the bread bin…my Mum has a milk pitcher in a similar style. And how yummy to bake your own bread….I sometime do but I haven’t been able to get into a good groove with my Bosch mixer yet. Soon I hope as three boys are asking about it constantly!
IUn answer to your question….yes, this pregnancy was different from the previous two. For starters, I didn’t have any morning sickness and I was quite ill with both the boys. This time round, I was absolutely exhausted….falling asleep by 8 and sleeping until 6 am. I also felt movement much earlier and stronger. The boys were not very active in utero and this baby is much more active. And, like any true blue girl, she loves chocolate!!
Anywho…on my way to soon make lunch for the still sick Gregory (he’s better than the weekend but not 100% yet) Hope you are having a good week so far
