yawning here….

….Thursdays are always tiring as we have P.E. all afternoon and of course I have to join in. This week we’ve been doing sponsored activities for Kick Asthma. I decided to do ours this afternoon in P.E.. So we had an egg and spoon team game. I had planned to do it outside but the weather has been much, much cooler today so we used the hall. Teaching kids to do a team game for the first time is always a challenge! We had five teams, each with five children, all except one which had six. So to make it fair I had to get all the team leaders with five to run their race twice. Hmmm, after about four attempts they finally realised that it was just the team leader who did it twice and not all of them. We practised just by running first and then throwing and catching a ball until they’d mastered it, and then we progressed to the egg and spoon. Amazingly it went well with only a few children dropping the egg.

One of the main items of news today in the UK is new advice for how to protect yourself from the sun. Out goes white thin cotton clothes, in comes thick denim, wool or polyester clothes :?: So now we die of heat exhaustion instead?? Hmmmmmm……

  2. oh, so that’s what all the latest ‘skin cancer’ thing has been about. Ha. I will not be wearing wooly jumpers this summer as it’s meant to be even hotter. I’m going to spend summer in the living room – which stays lovely and cool – or under the CK gazebo. :)

yes, my flowers were from Asda too (it’s the supermarket nearest to me) but the freesias do smell. I didn’t think they did at first, but as they opened I could smell them, and they are gorgeous. got some pink tulips from there too. :)

well, have a lovely weekend. love to you and Dave and all the fur babies. xxxx
